Recently I have been given the responsibility to handle all of the Java updates in our organization because the admin that was doing them in the past is no longer with us. I remember that he has had issues installing/updating Java with Desktop Central in the past but I don't know if he was ever able to resolve them.
An issue I ran into was when trying to install a 32 bit version of Java (Java 8 u73) on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine the install/update would fail. This does not happen with the 32bit version Java to the 32bit version of Windows 7. The error message the 64bit Windows is getting is "The system cannot find the path specified" while the 32bit Windows installs fine (these updates are on the same configuration).
I verified the 32bit Java installer does in fact work on the 64bit Windows because I can manually install it without any issues.
Has anyone else encountered this with Java/Desktop Central? Does anyone have any insight on this?
