Desktop Central Server - Backup window
On my actual DC server, when I login, I have at least one "ManageEngine Desktop Central" window open (multiple windows if it has been more than one day since my last login) that has the Backup & Restore tabs. Just sitting there. I have automatic backups configured to backup to a different server. Most of the time the backups appear to be made and by using the popup Backup window I can put in my save location and click Backup and it is successful.. I don't understand why this window keeps popping

Removing IP address from multiple IP Server
Hi, Our Desktop Central Server is currently configured with two IP addresses. The setting for the server IP address under Admin > Agent Settings > General Settings > Server IP address has an IP listed and the option to Automatically detect and save the IP Address change is checked. I'd like to remove one of the IP's on this server. If I have read the documentation correctly I should just be able to remove it and the restart the Desktop Central service on the server. Scope of management OU synchronization problem
I am running Desktop Central v90033. I have configured SoM to scan Active Directory for new machines every morning and automatically install the agent. I have noticed that SoM is finding computers that are not in an OU that I have specifically included in the configuration. If I select a parent OU in SoM, is that supposed to find machines in any of the OUs beneath it? If not, this appears to be a bug in the software.

Installed Software Not Listed
After running an asset scan on a machine I look at the list of Installed Software and a specific application that I know is installed on the machine is not listed. This program is installed on all machines and it shows up on most but not all of the machines in the Installed Software list. I've found that if I uninstall and re-install the agent on those machines it quickly finds the missing application. I have a problem with a software to distribute. normally we distribute the software silently but I need to register a library of .net with regasm, always shows us a msgbox, in which we have to double click, to register this library. Regedit after deploy of software
We have a situation of having to deploy a software add on for outlook and part of the process is to do a regedit to add a url. The only way we can figure out how to do this is push the software and then psh the reg punch. The question is, can a batch file after the software push do the full process in one attempt as we have a lot of computers to do and what would you put n the batch file. We have tried this line in a batch file with and without the /E and it does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Can someone please tell me how to get a report which shows me which registry setting was applied to each user, currently this report only shows how many registry settings were applied but does not show which they were. I also tried to find an option to report on a specific registry setting configuration, but there does not appear to be one. I just heard about the new Microsoft hotfix to address slowdown problems in IE versions. Hello, Any idea as to when in DC openSSL will be updated to 1.0.1h or later and Apache be updated to 2.4.10 or later? My security team is on my back to get both updated or they will block my DC server. Desktop Central agent "Apply configuration" Question
Why will the desktop agent on users computers not reapply configurations when "Apply configurations" is clicked? For instance I have a shortcut configuration that puts certain shortcuts on peoples desktops. If a user would accidentally delete one of these shortcuts I could tell them to right click on the agent on the task bar and click "Apply configuration" and they would appear in a few seconds. We've been running Desktop Central 8 (80354) for about three days, and I just noticed that our Inventory - Software (and Inventory Reports) are no longer showing Internet Explorer on nearly all of our Win 7 (x64) workstations. This includes IE v9, IE v10, and IE v11 (all x64). Under Patch Mgmt, IE is still showing up as installed on workstations, so this only seems to be impacting the Inventory area. I have been working with DesktopCentral for a few months now. I am trying to automate removal of MalwareBytes from my company's computers using a custom configuration / script. Can a program be installed or uninstalled from DesktopCentral client computer connected via public internet?
I am able to push Windows operating system patches, but not other program installs / uninstalls, onto my company's computers working remotely (using public internet instead of secure company network). Does anyone know why this is the case? What might I be doing wrong?

I have an enterprise iOS app which I have successfully created and pushed out to the app catalog on the iPhone. I used th procedure described to retrieve the BundleID and application icons. Upgrade from DTC 8 to 9
We are currently using DTC 8 and I applied all of the patches through build 90046. When log into Desktop Central after the upgrade it still shows that I am on the original build as well as still on version 8. As of now it says I am still on build 80260. This is a screenshot of the applied patches. What am I doing wrong? This is the first time I have had to upgrade this software.

Matlab Software Deployment
I am trying to deploy software to my network computers. I have successfully deployed other software using an msi, but I am having trouble getting Matlab to deploy correctly. So to install matlab silently, I need to do this: setup.exe -inputFile C:\temp\my_installer_input.txt where the txt file contains the answers to prompts during install, how the install should go (interactive, automated or silent), etc So when I set up the package in Desktop Central, I use the following: \\DBSRVR\Share\Matlab_2012b\Matlab2012b\bin\win64\setup.exe
Prohibited software list help
I had once configured a certain software to be on the prohibited list and as such, removed automatically. We changed our mind and will now allow this software, but even though I have removed it from the prohibited list, it's still being removed within 30 seconds of being installed. I emptied the prohibited list, added that one software back and excluded it. Tried stopping and restarting the service from the ManageEngine server, but it continues to remove this application. Deleted objects in Active Directory and DC
Hi, I need some clarification on what happens in DC when an object such as a computer is deleted from Active Directory. There doesn't appear to be a function, as in SDP, where we can mark a PC as being decommissioned so I am assuming the computer will need to be deleted from the SOM. Does the computer remain in DC after deleting from Active Directory? If so is there a report of some sort I can pull showing the machines which are no longer in Active Directory but in DC?
Agent Settings for Remote computers
At the moment when you configure the Agent settings for Desktop Central, it asks you to configure the IP address only. For laptops, which are frequently outside the firewalls, I would like to have the Desktop Central Agent be able to continue to connect to the server so that they can use it to submit tickets with screen shots without having to log in to VPN. Am I missing something configureable or would this be a wish list item?
