Trouble trying to monitor Oracle database

Problem in Adding new Monitor
Hi, I have an problem related to Manager. I had a snmp Agent running on some 192.168.102.70 IP and port 8001. I am adding the monitor for the same on another machine 192.168.102.185 and 192.168.102.144 but on machine 192.168.102.144 I am able to add the monitor and on 192.168.102.185 I am unalbe to add the monitor for the same. Downtime scheduler
There is still a problem with the downtime scheduler: We have an MSSQL-DB that we shutdown from Monday to Friday between 00:00 and 03:00 for a backup. I entered a downtime for this monitor (everyday 23:45-03:30) but every night I receive an alert that this monitor is down. The "Change Availability to Up when in Maintenance" is set! What goes wrong? SSH w/Suse Linux
I am trying to connect the App Manager to a Suse Linux operating system. I keep getting the following error: Check whether the PasswordAuthentication is set as yes in /etc/ssh/sshd_config file.Kindly set it as yes and restart the SSH deamon. I after tried different settings and still can't get it to work. I am new to Linux so some of this is not confusing. I have just found the System logs and the system log on the Linux System is stating that it did not receive identification string from ::ffff:###.##.###.##

SNMP Setup
OKay. I set up my community names for SNMP. I also changed the port to 162 on App Manager. I cannot get any traps in applicaiotns manager. COnfigured events to be wrote to event logs, created event 529 (Incorrect password) in windows but it never shows up in App manager. When I try to put the OID that windows uses, the field is too short. Any Ideas? What am I doing wrong?
sound alarms enabled
Is there any way to implement sound alarms as an action? We need to provide it in a remote PC client with sound card where will be implemented web access to Applications Manager Server. cause of high CPU utilization?
I just installed the free version of application manager. I wanted to test it based on a quote from the products page: "Monitors overall CPU utilization and shows which processes are consuming what amount of CPU" I have it set up to monitor a single Solaris server and cannot figure out how to get it to show me the processes that are using the CPU and in what amounts. I'm using SSH as the connectin mechanism. Suggestions as to what I am not doing?
Change Availability to Up when in Maintenance can't be saved
If I select the checkbox under the Global Settings/Change Availability to Up when in Maintenance and save the changes and then browse to a different page and then back to the Global Settings the Change Availability to Up when in Maintenance checkbox is unchecked. Thanks for any help! Greez Andy

Monitoring IIS 6.0 on Windows 2003
When I add my Windows 2003 IIS 6 web server, it doesn't detect it as an IIS server and adds it as a generic Web Server. I was hoping to gain more statistics in a similar way that the apache monitoring has. Is IIS 6 not supported yet? Or do I need to change something in my IIS/Application Manager config? Cannot set up smtp to send mail alerts
Having problems in setting up smtp server in app manager. I am using the same smtp for my mail and it works. Wonder why it is not recognized by app manager. It tells me error - smtp is not running in <server> port 25. Please help. I think this application is useful and I am about to request my group to buy this and the "email set up" thing happened which is quite a disappointment for me...

Any idea how do App manager discover OS type when you add monitor? Because I got an error when adding new monitor, which is : Server type: SunOS 5.8 Generic_117350-20 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V440. error: Failed The Selected OS Type is SUN but the actual OS Type is as you can see the discovered OS is blank.

Monitor group name limitation
When I created a new monitor group entered I a name with 23 caracters, but I had a typing error in it. I tried to edit the name, but there is a limitation of the length by 21 caracters. Why is this limitation, and why can I at creating time enter a longer name? Thanks for any help! Greez Andy

I am having problems getting Applications Manager connecting to retrieve os information. Hi, Just wondering if it is possible to withhold alerts so that they are not sent during certain time periods during the day. For instance, we have setup applications manager to send an sms using an external script that's been uploaded to the server. However, for some machines we don't want to be receiving these sms's while we're asleep in bed at 3am in the morning. Is there a way to set app manager up like this? Thanks Derek

Linux build - Application Manager 6
I am trying to use the Free subscription of Application Manager 6 for Linux. During the installation it only asks me for a Port number and not the Server nae or Ip. Once up and running it always binds to localhost rather then the IP address of the box. I have tried manually to change the configuration file for Tomcat (server.xml) and Apache (httpd.conf) file to point to the IP of the server, but every time it reverts back to the localhost. Is there something I am missing, or the free version does

Hello, i am using this tool to monitor several URL, and would like to receive a mail when URL is not available. However, as there may be some little network trouble, i would like to receive a mail only when testing the URL fails 2 or 3 times in a row. So here comes my question : is there any way to configure monitors/alerts in such a way that it sends a mail/SMS only in the case explained above, or not ? Problem: can not add a new attribute
Hi I've added a mib for an application I wrote to the folder "<appManHome>/working/mibs" and tried to monitor it using the snmpwalk command and it worked just fine. The application manager is on a linux RH 9 and my application is on a sun solaris machine. First I had a syntax problem. I wrote the oid without the pre dot and without the trailing dot zero (e.g "1.3.6.1.4.1.3" instead of ".1.3.6.1.4.1.3.0") but then I saw that it is working with the machine sysUpTime value so I've tried this syntax
