Email notification does not work

Email notification does not work

Issue : OpManager is  generating alarms but my email notification does not work.

Solution: check the following:

1)Mail server settings should be configured correctly and make sure "Test mail"  on the same page works fine.

(Go to OpManager admin tab > click "Mail server settings" > configure mail server name , port , "From",  "To email" and authentication details if required  etc.,)

2)Email profile should be created and associated to the devices with required trigger rules.
(Go to OpManager admin tab > Notification Profiles > Add new > configure "Profile Name,To Email Address, From Email Address etc" , make
use of "Test actions" option to verify the mail delivery status )

(To associate  go to admin > notification profiles > associate > select the profile > check required trigger rules , select time window > Next > Next > select the device or category > Finish )

3)Make sure the emails are not blocked by your mail server for some reason.

There might be some  cases where your mail server will not allow mails due to relay settings which needs to be reconfigured. If  the test action failed, open "\\Opmanager\logs" directory and open the recent "notificationLogsXX.txt" file using notepad and check for any exceptions.

You may get the following exceptions :

"09:14:59:906 Notifications: Exception while sending message  at:09:14:59:906 javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;
nested exception is:com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay"

(or )

exceptions with invalid email address etc.,"
