Import From Azure and its benefits

Import From Azure and its benefits

What does the "Import from Azure" option do?

This option allows you to manually import users from Azure by selecting the specific users you want to bring into the system.
It is available both in the ESM Directory and within all individual portals.

(Setup -> Users & Permissions -> Users -> Requesters)

(ESM Directory -> Users)

Role Required?

ServiceDesk Plus: OrgAdmin

Microsoft : User.ReadBasic.All

Use the admin’s Microsoft account for authentication.
  • Privileged Access admin or Global admin privileges are not required for this process.

  • The Microsoft account used here is not linked to the one used in the Microsoft Azure integration, which is a separate process requiring Privileged Access admin or Global Admin access.

  • This authentication is solely to link the admin’s Zoho account with their Microsoft account.

Notes
Always use the admin’s own Microsoft account for this authentication. Do not use a service account or another user’s account.

Import from Azure—Supported Fields

By default, only basic fields such as name and email will be available during import. If Microsoft Azure integration is enabled, you can import additional user details beyond just name and email — such as department, site, and more.

Users Listed for Import

All users (excluding guest and external users) will be listed in the popup. Users who are already present in the system will be automatically ignored during the import.
