This article explains the two required locations where the service account password must be updated in ADAudit Plus. Following these steps will ensure that data collection and product functionality continue without interruption after a password change.
You must have the new password for the service account.
You need administrator access to the ADAudit Plus web console.
You need local administrator access to the server where ADAudit Plus is installed to manage Windows services.
Navigate to Configuration > Domain Settings.
Hover over your domain and click Modify Credentials.
Enter the updated username and password for the service account and save the changes.
Locate the ManageEngine ADAudit Plus service in the list.
Right-click the service and select Properties.
Navigate to the Log On tab.
Select the This account option and enter the updated service account credentials.
Click OK to save the changes.
Restart the ManageEngine ADAudit Plus service for the changes to take effect.
The service account should have the "Log on as a service" right assigned in the local security policy of the server where ADAudit Plus is installed.
The account used for data collection should be a domain user with the necessary permissions to read audit logs from the domain controllers.
It is best practice to perform this update during a planned maintenance window.
