Objective  

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to schedule reports in ADAudit Plus. Scheduling reports ensures timely delivery and storage of audit data for compliance and analysis purposes.

Prerequisites  

  • Have permission to access the Schedule Reports folder.

  • SMTP must be configured under Admin > General Settings > Server Settings.

  • Have sufficient storage space for storing reports.

Steps to follow:

Step 1: Create a scheduled report  

  1. Log in to ADAudit Plus.

  2. Navigate to Admin > Administration > Schedule Reports > + Schedule New Reports.

  3. Enter a relevant Name and Description.

  4. Select the Domain Name from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: Select reports  

  1. Under Available Reports, click a report category.

  2. Choose a report from the list and click Add >> to move it to Selected Reports.

  3. For reports requiring granular object selection, a pop-up will appear to select users, computers, or groups.

Step 3: Configure report frequency  

  1. Select a frequency type:

  • Run Once: Generate reports for a specific date or time.

  • Hourly: Generate reports every hour or at a specified interval.

  • Daily: Generate reports every 24 hours or at a specific time.

  • Weekly: Generate reports on a specific day of the week.

  • Monthly: Generate reports on a specific day of the month.

  • Custom: Define custom intervals for report generation.

  1. Choose the Time Period for the reports:

  • Last N minutes, hours, or days

  • Before N minutes, hours, or days

  • Predefined time periods (same day, last week, last month, etc.).

  • Custom range to specify exact dates

Step 4: Define storage location  

  1. By default, reports are stored in:

  • <Installation Folder>/webapps/adap/schedule-reports

  1. Enter a different storage path if needed.

  2. Select the report format:

  • PDF, XLS, HTML, or CSV

  1. Check the Don't create extra folders box to store files directly in the selected path.

Step 5: Configure email notifications  

  1. Enable Email this scheduled report.

  2. Enter recipient email addresses.

  3. Click Message Settings to customize email options:

  • Attach Reports: Send reports as attachments.

  • Send as a ZIP file: Compress reports before sending.

  • Attach Empty Reports: Include reports even if they contain no data.

  • Publish reports and email the link: Send only the link to the report instead of the full attachment.

  1. Modify the Email Subject and Content if needed.

  2. Click OK to save the email settings.

Validation and confirmation  

  • Ensure scheduled reports appear in the storage path.

  • Check the email inbox of recipients for report delivery.

  • Verify that report data matches the expected time range and format.

  • Use the Test Now option to validate report generation instantly.

Tips

  • Store reports in a secure location with proper access controls.

  • Use compressed formats (i.e., ZIP) to reduce storage space.

  • Avoid scheduling too many reports simultaneously to prevent performance issues.

  • Regularly review and clean up old scheduled reports to optimize storage.
