How to automatically backup the ADSelfService Plus database
Objective
The ADSelfService Plus database contains critical data necessary for the application's functionality. To safeguard against potential data loss, the application provides an automatic database backup feature. This feature allows administrators to schedule regular backups, ensuring data is preserved and recoverable in the event of a failure or unexpected issue.
Prerequisite
Steps to follow
To configure automatic database backups:
Log in to the ADSelfService Plus admin portal.
Navigate to Admin > Product Settings > Backup Settings.
Choose the desired Backup Frequency:
Specify the storage path where the backup files should be saved.
You can select a local path on the ADSelfService Plus server or a network shared path (e.g., \\YourServer\ShareName\ADSSPBackup).
If no custom path is provided, backups will be stored by default in are stored in: C:\Program Files\ManageEngine\ADSelfService Plus\Backup.
Configure retention settings to limit storage usage.

Note: Older files exceeding the configured limit will be deleted automatically to conserve disk space.
Click Save Settings.
Once configured, the database will be backed up automatically at the set frequency. Each backup is stored as a .zip file.
Validation and confirmation
To verify that the automatic backup is functioning correctly, navigate to the configured storage path and confirm the presence of recent backup .zip files with timestamps matching the scheduled intervals.
