This article explains how to apply a license file in both the standalone and distributed editions of ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer. For details about the different license types, refer to license details.
For standalone and distributed editions:
Verify that the default administrator credentials are available.
Ensure that you have a valid EventLog Analyzer license file.
Check that antivirus or endpoint protection software does not modify or interfere with the downloaded license.xml file.
Confirm that the browser cache has been cleared.
Additional requirements for distributed edition:
The EventLog Analyzer Admin Server must be accessible.
Connectivity between the Admin and Managed Servers must be properly established and working.
Case 1: How to apply a license file in EventLog Analyzer standalone edition
1. Access the EventLog Analyzer URL using an incognito/InPrivate window using any of the following supported browsers:
Microsoft Edge
Firefox 4 and later
Chrome 8 and later
2. Login using the default built-in admin credentials.

3. Click on the ? icon at the right top corner of the UI and select the License tab.

4. Click on the browse option and select the downloaded license.xml file and hit upgrade button.

5. Once the license is successfully applied, a confirmation message will be displayed.

Case 2: How to apply a license file in EventLog Analyzer distributed edition
1. Access the EventLog Analyzer Admin Console using an incognito/InPrivate window using any of the following supported browsers:
Microsoft Edge
Firefox 4 and later
Chrome 8 and later
2. Login using the default built-in admin credentials.

3. Ensure that the Managed Servers are properly synchronized with the Admin Server by navigating to Settings > Managed Server Settings.

4. After verification, click the ? icon at the top-right corner of the screen and select the License tab.
5. Next, click the Browse button at the bottom, select the downloaded license.xml file, and click Upgrade to apply the license.
Case 3: How to apply the perpetual license file in EventLog Analyzer
Follow the steps above based on the editions and apply the AMS.xml file for renewing the support services on a yearly basis.
Please ensure that the license expiry notification is enabled in your instance to receive timely alerts before expiration.

Always ensure that the default admin credentials are securely backed up. If they are not, you can reset the password at your convenience by following the instructions in reset account settings.
For the distributed edition, periodically ensure that the Admin Server and Managed Servers are properly synchronized by navigating to Settings > Managed Server Settings from the Admin Server console. If you notice any errors or delays in synchronization, click the Sync Now button next to the respective server.
