Feature Request - Bulk adding of Holidays
We are running ServceDesk in a school and we are currently on our summer break. Adding each day of the holiday is a problem. A good feature would be to specify a start and end date for the holiday so that we don't have to add each day individually. Regards.
URL monitoring's problem
Hi all I am evaluating ApplicationManager to monitor our website. But if we have short time network connection problem, URL monitoring will send an alert message. but mostly it's just a false alarm. I am wondering if ApplicationManager have a mechanism that double check this status and then send alert. It can decrease false alarms thank you very much

Bug assigning tickets
Just had an incident where one of techs had created a new request and assigned it to a particular technician. As she was saving the request the server hung (due to a cpu hungry app on that server) and for whatever reason, Service Desk re-assigned all the open requests to: null. I suspect this is related to the "pick-up bug" I reported earlier.
No more ssh sessions available on HP-UX
Hi there. I've been monitoring 4 HP-UX servers for the last few weeks and recently ran into a problem. There are no more ssh vty sessions available on any of the four servers being monitored. It seems that Application Manager, when using SSH to monitor HPUX, is not logging off or otherwise releasing the ssh session. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. This is a major concern for us. Also, is there a way to use SNMP to monitor HP-UX machines?
AMDB database question
Is it possible to expand the date range of collected response time data? It seems like amdb.am_managedobjectdata in mySQL is getting cleaned out daily. I've been using some of the data collected for a more detailed report. We're trying to track down an internal network timeout issue dealing with Apaches, a load balancer and tomcats and need more date range sensitive data to help. I just drop the results into Excel and manually graph to show the problem to upper management. It would be nice if I had
OpManager 5.6 and Netflow Analyser
Hi, What does Opmanager use to look up the right interface in NFA? I have a couple of routers that I'm not able to use SNMP on for various reasons, so I've configured the interface and device names manually in NFA. However, OpManager's links to NFA's graphs for these interfaces don't work - it says "Unable to fetch Netflow details". For routers where I have SNMP configured, the NFA links work perfectly. Discovery of any service take more than 30 min
Hi, have installed the app manager trial and trying now to add a new monitor. taken system monitor or a simple smtp mail monitor, the app manager server hangs or take a very long time to add the monitor. still waiting for 30 min to add a smtp monitor. Hardware: Dell PowerEdge 6350 4x Xeon 500 MhZ 1.5 GB Ram. OS: RedHat ES 3.0, Application Manager Build 6020 See only the java and mysql processes taking 40 % CPU time. No error found in the logs :?:
User submitting a request issue
When I first started looking at Service Desk, when a user signed on and submitted a request only a single line appeared where the title/subject could be entered. This would then go off and list some similar requests, and if not appropriate carry on to fill in the details. This no longer works and I am sure that it is something that I have done. How can I reinstate this feature. Thanks Damian
Vendor not saved when editing Asset for 1st time.
When editing an assest (license in this case) I specify a Vendor, at the price, dates, workstation and workstation name and click update. When I view the asset details again, the vendor has not saved. If I specify the vendor again and click Update it seems to be keep it. Using Version : 4.1.0 Build Number : 4104 Regards.
Request Form Fields
Hello: First of all thanks for latest update, Alphabetical sorting works fine. I have few other issues, though: 1) When I go into admin page for request form preview, it does show all correct fields (snapshot attached), but few fields like Technician, contact #, Department, Level are not seen at all when requester goes to create web form request. Hi, I configured the Helpdesk - Mail Server Settings for incoming mail. When a ticket is closed or updated, it send an message to the requester. Is the user reply back to the sent message, the system create another request. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks
Filtered AD imports
Hi there, Evaluating SD at the moment - looks good Question - can the AD import be filtered by Active Directory OU? We have 2500 users but only want users in certain OUs to be able to generate requests or to be able to log in. I'm testing a trial version of Service Manager and i have a question about closed Requests. I think to be impossible manage actual requests if the closed requests are show together with open requests after any search. Is possible search just the open requests ? HelpDesk Incoming mail
Hi, I had a case yesterday, I have configured my Incoming mail to create automatically a new request. I received a bad email request and it created a loop from the unknown user to the helpdesk user, it was looping in creating a new request Id for the unkown email, and the unknown was replying back with an NDR. Is there any fix or workaround on this? Thanks

Is there any way to modify the default interface name (i.e. Serial 2/0) to a more descriptive name? (i.e. To Location B) I have my interfaces set with descriptions, but it doesn't appear to pull that from SNMP. Thanks!
Acess Denied when trying to add Windows Service Monitor(s)
i have enabled RPC and WMI on the SBS 2003 server, i am logging in as Domain\Administrator and my password is 100% correct, yet it still gives me "acess denied" Someone elswhere mentioned WMI and RPC authentication, how do i check this? Thanks in advance, Mark

I am Demo'ing the opmanager software to see if my company wants to buy it, I am trying to do exchange monitoring, It shows to be an addon option is there an optional download for it or is it included in the 5.6 release? If its included is there any trick to setting it up?

Is there a way to export all the workstation data in a form that can be used in excel? Can reports be customized?
OpManager webstart or applet start mode
We are presented and POC for OpManager and Netflow Analyzer to my customer. The customer ask whether the opmanager support the applet start or webstart mode(the customer have evaluted the webnms). Did Upgrade to 5.6 replacement of OIDTYPE.data
In the /conf folder in OIDType.data I'd edited (and have backed up copies) the file so that devices we own would be readily identifed. I also chose to pull some of the Cisco switch/routers away from the "series" classifications, as I saw some OID's only applied to specific models within the series. I just want to confirm that the upgrade procedure for OpManager will not preserve any user edits to this page. No router detected
Hi, i'm using the Linux trial version of Netflow Analyser but no router is detected. My cisco router conf seems to be correct since tcpdump indicates netflow frames are coming with the correct parameters (port, src address, srv address). If anyone has a solution, please tell me. MySQL Support
It is unclear in reading the installation instructions whether the .bin distributed will actually install MySQL or just configure some tables for use. I assume the latter is the case, but could someone confirm this for me? Is access to the underlying database "open"? Thanks, Chris
String matching in Event Rules?
How fancy can you get with the string matching in the Event Rules "Description contains string :" field ? Are there wildcard characters you can use? What I want to do is alert based on an administrator failed login to only specific domains.
Request - Additional Fields
When Requesting Additional Fields within the HelpDesk configuration wizard I rquested the date/time for an additional item. The date field works but not time. I am using build 4105, hope this helps. Can someone help me fix this issue or is it a programming issue?
not enough Custom fields
We are importing a CSV of assets, however our situation requires a number of custom feilds, like maybe even 20. I was hoping that you could just add more when you used all of them. but it looks limited to 6 text, 2 numeric and 2 date when could we expect to have any amount of custom any types in anything. etc. Thank you.

Open or view log files
We are using AdventNet_ManageEngine_NetFlowAnalyzer_4_windows trial version. How can I open log file to see the historical usage of network traffic and the second question there is a file under "C:\AdventNet\ME\NetFlow\mysql\data" named "ibdata1" and its size 174 MB, how can we open this file, is this file is a log file or something else? one more.. we can take reports but at once we configure to show top10 Results, two days ago we changed the settings uo to top100. What to do to monitor a Customer Network
We have installed OpManager on our server (SBS 2003 Premium, 192.168.0.50), enabled snmp on our devices and it's working fine. Mysql continuing issues
When I tried to start OpManager on the existing MySql 4.0.18-nt instance on port 3306 the error I get when I click on the Alarms tab is: Exception occured while forming SQL to get Total Count; nested exception is: java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error or access violation, message from server: "You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHERE Alert.ID >0' at line 1" Also if I try to add a router or such nothing
Additional Feature
Would it be possible on the requests list to view outstanding requests for a specific technician. Would be usefull in order to review priorities and task assignments for a team. Rgds Damian
Closure types
Hi Is there an option to setup closure types?, ie hardware, software, user issues etc. This would be handy on the reports showing where upgrades or training is required in a particular area. At the moment i can only see entering a resolution, unless i have missed a setting where this can be configured. Thank You

Searching for Request ID
Sorry if this question has already been asked, I am trying to do a search on Request ID. I have read the adminGuide and it says Note: The search would return the results for any of the text fields of the request. You will not be able to search for a request based on its ID or based on any of the date fields of the request. Can anyone point me in the right direction
