Restoring Admin rights
Hi, How do I restore admin rights to the admin user? I noted there is a database route for servicedesk but nothing for support center. I reduced the admin rights for the main admin user to a business unit manager from Global. Thanks Stew
Rediscovery problem + Availability report error
I got three problems with OpManager: 1) I've got a bunch of switches where clicking "rediscovery" doesn't do anynthing. The interfaces are simply not added to the device. 2) I've read about a working solution that should by available in the customer portal, but I don't have a login there (besides having bought OpManager). 3) My reports and dial graphs doesn't show availability information - the only say that the device is not being monitored. Could someone help me?

SMTP Settings - Not Sending Email
After a bit of troubleshooting, I was finally able to get the incoming email settings correctly configured for ServideDesk, but I've failed to get the outgoing mail settings correctly and SDP isn't sending out replies or notifications. I'm running Windows Small Business Server 2008 with Exchange Server 2007. I've tried everything I can think of - including altering the mail server name, using authentication, etc, and nothing I've tired seems to work. I've checked the Firewall, but I don't see anything
How to create a reports only role

Adding New Product in Purchase Order Fails to Load
I opened a new PO to order some new software. I click on the little button next to the Product's drop down which is supposed to pop up a window to add a new software. However, instead, I get the "Loading Please Wait" dialogue that never compeltes (see fail1.jpg). The other add buttons seem to work properly (add vendor, add shipping address, add billing address). It also doesn't matter what vendor I have selected. I even tried creating a brand new vendor (Test Vendor 1) and was still unable to

Clarification about Deploying MSIs
OK. One thing I'm not clear on is the switches for deploying a MSI package. If i want to use switches like /qn does it need to be a msiexec type of package? I've been looking at the help document and it seems for an MSI you can do arguments but not switches. If it needs to be a msiexec/exe type of deployment how do i reference msiexec.exe ? I just want to pass the arguments /qn and /norestart to an msi that I'm trying to deploy. If I try to put that in as an argument for an msi it fails. Is that
Proxy master flag being ignored?
Hi All, I'm having a problem with OpManager where, we used to use a Proxy Server but have discontinued use. We've changed the default gateway on the OpManager server from the Proxy Server to our new (non-proxy) gateway box. However, all our external URL monitors are now failing. I went into the Admin module and unticked the "Enable Proxy" flag and tested the external URLs again and am still getting "The URL http://www.chemalert.com.au/ is down, Reason : Host Unavailable". Request information of merged Request stay in database?
Today I struggled a little bit with deleting Sub-Categories. Of course I figured it out, and I was also able to mass-edit all Request who had the "old" Sub-Category asssigned. However, ServiceDesk then still said, that the Sub-Category I wanted to delete is still used by "another module". I switched then into the Database (MSSQL) and searched the WorkOrderStats for the affected Sub-Category ID. It turned out, that we had some tickets that obviously had assigned thit Sub-Category some time ago,

Need old URL monitor reports
I updated this morning to the newest version of ManageEngine. Now I need to be able to get the old URL monitor reports for one of my URL's but since the update required me to uninstall the old to install the new I don't see how I can get those old reports. Desktop Central Command line options?
Hi Is there a way to trigger an install from the commandline from the client? What I want to achieve is when I deploy an OS with OS deployer, I have the option to run a command/action as final phase. Some opinions on Request View
Hi, I have some questions/suggestions regarding request view. 1. I created a public custom request view (Custom View1) and after that, "My View" still showed up. Isn't it better it only shows up when there is at least one private view? 2. Custom View1 stays at the bottom of the view automatically. Is there any way to change the order of views? Date selection popups: it should be possible to specify Monday as first day of the week
I'd like to see an option in the Admin-Panel, where I can define "Monday" to be the first day of a week for in Date selection popups. It happens quite often, that out of behaviour, our technicians open a Date selection popup select the first row - thinking of that it's Monday. But as of now, the first row is Sunday.

Field "Department" in Technician details too short
I realized that the dropdown menu "Department" in Technician Details is way too short, in order to read the full Department name and also the Site that department is attached to. Is there a short term fix I could apply myself (increasing the menu-size on the HTML page?). Because this makes it really unhandy to assign department to Technicians. The field should be at least as large as when you view the details of a Requester - there the size of the dropdown is quite OK. Thanks, Oliver
Statistics wrong?
Hi, After using Opmanager to monitor bandwidth for a while now, I yesterday activated the netflow plugin and configures our CISCO ASA accordingly. Most things seem to work fine beside that the statistics I get seem to be wrong. We have a 15 MBit line. But the traffic statistics show up to 500 MBit (seen netfow screenshot attached). At the same time, monitoring via SNMP shows the correct information. (see SNMP screenshot). What could be wrong here? Thanks Robert
Embedding the Self Service Portal?
Hello, Is there a way to embed the Self Service Portal? For example, on our Intranet, we'd like to have a link to access the Self Service Portal, but when user's click on it, we would like the Self Service Portal to show in the right content pane, in other words the Top header and Left hand pane of the main Intranet site would stay the static showing our Intranet site resources and links, and the content would be the Self Service Portal? Hallo, I just upgraded to version 8.72 and want to use the new "virtual devices" feature. I already added our ESX3.5 servers to OpManager while still using 8.5. They were listed under servers. I now moved one of them to the category "virtual devices". But the host and the VMs don't show up there. I also can't add them there, as they are already in the system. Cisco Switch Port Display Name
I've noticed Opmanager recognizes my port descritions when I first add a switch. I've yet to figure out how get Opmanager to recognize that I've changed a port description. Domain Scan with VLAN
Hi, I've a VLAN network in my domain. I've installed the SD+ into VLAN 1 and all the PCs are in VLAN 2. The domain scan is unable to scan machines in the different VLAN. When I move the PC to the same VLAN as the SD+ machine, it manages to scan successfully, meaning the I got the PC settings right. What ports do I need to open to allow scanning across VLAN? This is the error message I receive when I perform the scan, "No response received from workstation. Probably the workstation might be switched
Cannot see any IP Addresses of computers
G'day, We are trying to see which IP addresses are connected to a specific switch port, however after scanning the switch we still dont see any IP addresses listed. In fact only half the connected PCs dont even have a MAC address showing. We have HP ProCurve 5406zl switches, which I believe also act as a router. The management of them is performed from VLAN 1 which has a different Subnet and IP range to the VLAN 5 which all the computers are connected to. Would this make a difference? I.E.

I made o copy of the OPUTILS directory before i performa an upgrade to 58001. I need to fallback to the copy. i STOPPED the managengine service but can rename the OPUTILS dir because it is in use. How do i completely shutdown the managengine?

I would like to recommend adding Last Successful Scan info along with the last scanned info for a given computer. Problem adding 3Com 5500 Router
Hello... Has anyone had any luck or know what I need to do to get my 3Com 5500 Routers working in OpUtils? I've entered the IP address of the router, V2c and the SMNP Read Community string, I'm using Telnet as the CLI connection. I've tried using both HP and Cisco as the vendor name. I know my username and password is correct, but regardless it keeps telling me it 'Login failed: Password or Prompt are incorrect!" Any help is appreciated! :)
