I am attempting to setup an SSL Certificate. I have generated my data from the ADSSP certificate tool, but now my ISP that I am getting the certificate from, have asked what my "Web Server Type" is? managing different computers - getting started
I just installed Desktop Central and want to start patching computers. Initially I added the computers to DC and used it to installed the latest Java, Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash. That worked pretty well, but now I am realizing the larger goal is to keep all the computers as up to date as possible. Bulk Modify Templates
I would like to change default mailbox stores on ALL my templates but there needs to be a easier way to enable the same settings on all my 250+ templates without going in to each template.
Task Improvements
2 Requests 1. In a request template that has tasks associated with it, it would be nice if you could "auto assign" to the user who the request gets assigned to. Maybe include a check box in the task to "Auto Assign to Request Technician." 2. In a request template that has tasks, it would be great if it wouldnt let you close the case if you still have "open" tasks. Would prevent tickets from being closed before all required actions are completed/documented. Thanks!

Questions surrounding new UI in OpManager
Hi, A couple of questions surrounding the new UI in OpManager: - How do you assign device dependencies (both individual devices and multiple devices) in the new UI? I can't see an option to do this. - In the older version of OpManager we were able to singularly add ESXi hosts, and then from there, choose the VM's that we want OpManager to manage (we have the auto-vm discovery turned off). It looks like there is no option to do that anymore since having to add the vCenter to manage everything. If
8.0 Dashboards
After updating, the dashboards we have been using were gone. I created a new dashboard for each business group and saved them. When moving from one business group to the other the new dashboards are no longer available. The drop down shows new dashboard, but I cannot select the saved dashboard. Later I am working on a new dashboard and can see the ones just created.

Differences in Inventory Modules between ServiceDesk Plus and Desktop Central
We are trying to get our inventory under control and managed in a more effective way. We have both ServiceDesk Plus and Desktop. They both seem to have inventory modules in them. What functionality is different between the two product? Is there one database that each module shares or are there two different databases? Thanks in advances for your help. Mark.
Ignore junk software
When you scan a machine, it picks up all software, including software such as "Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable". The reports report this as under licensed, but it is not something that you license. Is there any way for the system to categorize these types of software so that they: 1.. Can be filtered so that you don't need to wade through them, and 2. Not be reported as "under licensed"?
How do I deploy MS Office templates to users with Desktop Central
We have several customized templates for MS Office, especially normal.dotx and normal.dotm for MS Word. Is there a way to deploy these to our users' default templates folder with Desktop Central. I've tried using the file copy configuration tool but can't seem to get it to work. Has someone documented this already? Thanks for the help.

Looking to figure out how to lock a workstation after X minutes of Inactivity, and remaining locked until the user unlocks the screen with appropriate identification and authentication... been looking at the Display (user) configuration, which is where I think I need to be. If the user doesnt have a screen saver enabled, what happens when you choose Retain Existing Screensaver, with the wait time, then on resume show logon screen, or is there another way to do this?
Monitor script not working on UTM/Linux system
Hi guys, I have several UTMs that are linux based, and I got a bunch of scripts that need to be run on those. Thus, I wrote a simple one, tested on a Debian (worked) via ssh/putty and via OpManager, but when testing on the UTM it worked via ssh using putty , but via OpManager it didn't. Note: on both I got the password/credentials test working. way too many IfIndex from Catalyst4500 with Sup8e
hello I have configured Flexible Netflow on a Cisco Catalyst 4500 with Supervisor 8E. also I have added SNMP credentials for the device in Netflow Analyzer, however I am getting 2430 interfaces from this device - alot with just long "IfIndex" names - this is of cause way too many interfaces, but I cant seem to get it to just show/report the actualt interfaces.. do I have to configure something special on either the Catalyst 4500 or in Netflow Analyzer ?? this is my config from the Catalyst 4500:

Added my vCenter and ran discovery found all hosts and VM's I can see them in the inventory tab but nothing is showing on the dashboard or vMware Tab.
UnManaged Servers Revert to Managed Following Maintenance Window
We have 10 - 15 unmanaged powered down vm guest servers in our environment. There is a downtime schedule every week for a 6 hour maintenance window. Following the maintenance window every week all of our unmanaged servers revert to being managed and send out alerts since they are all powered down. Any ideas on how to remedy this unwanted action?

Hi all, I'm trying to monitor the server where OpManager is installed, but i've some problems. By WMI credentials, when i set up the User and Passowrd, shows me the error below: "User credentials cannot be used for local connections" Then, i installed SNMP service to collect the data by snmp. When select 'Test Credentials' shows that result 'passed', then click 'Ok'. When i back to the local server, OpManager dont collect the data. Anyone can help me? Thanks,
Using email templates for ticket generation
Hi everyone, I am looking into how to use formatted emails sent from staff to automatically create tickets with assigned tasks. For example for a new user request, a staff member opens the email template, fills in the required information, and send it. The email is picked up and parsed into a ticket in this case labelled New User Request and prefills fields and tasks based on the information parsed from the email. Any help would be appreciated.
