Monitoring VMWare ESX3
Hi all, I'm a new user of OpManager. I've managed to configured SNMP on windows based server and monitor all of them. I need some help in configuring SNMP (or anything else which will allow OpManager to Monitor it ) on ESX Server and also how to configure the same on OpManager to Monitor it. I've tried a lot so if some one can guide me ( step by step ) thanks a lot for all of you
Cannot view pictures in home screen or in dashboard
The pictures are not showing but displaying an "X"...(see attached) I am currently using OpManager 7, build 7025. Is there a patch I can apply to correct this? --Larry
Monitor intervals
Is it possible to clear something up for me please. If I have my "Interval" period on a monitor set to 30 minutes, and then set the "consecutive times" to 3, will this report if the threshold is breached 3 times in 30 minutes, or will it report if 3x30 minute (total 90 minutes) internals have a breach?
Total Availability on Reporting feature?
Hi in availability reporting it would be nice to have a total availability (average) of the bussiness View calculated. It is very hard to export everything and try to calculate on excel or another tool Regards Gabriel
Custom links linked to device template/Category
Allow the custom link to be associated to a device template or the device category, example, Novell Servers have iManage on a specific port, I wish I didnt have to delete and recreate the link each time we add/change a server, all other devices don't need a link to the specific port.

Request Reports: Filter by Site for Requests
This functionality should extend to request reports so you can select Site to the requests reports. Then it's possible to filter requests by sites.

Every tape MSP recevied a trap that the backup has stop. We want to have a futher that a engineer must marked add the backup doc with it a close this event.

Just wondering if you will be putting powershell compatability into Opmanager for Exchange Server 2007 and Windows Server 2008? Not necessarily a request just wondering if that is in the future for Opmanager. Thanks
Add custom scrpts on device info
Hi all is there a way on device info (Asset Management, or applications installed etc) to execute custom WMI scripts and see the results or even save them - add them to the DB? Regards Gabriel
Wrong detection of Ms Exchange 2003 Server
Dear all, I've added my Exchange 2003 Cluster servers to OpManager. configured SNMP and tested both SNMP & WMI and both of them passed the test. but OpManager Detects the OS as WinNT even thoug I'm running on Windows 2K3 SP2 and also doesn't show me that it's an exchange server ( Doesn't show exchange server features) I've changed the OS manually and set it to Windows 2k3 but still can't detect that it's an exchange server... could any one guide me on the above :) thanks

OPMANAGER Process Fails to Start
After 7.1 upgrade we get this error starting opmanger: Process : OpManagerProcess [ FAILED ] Removing upgrade e restoring /mysql/data dir we get the same error. Any help will be appreciate. We run under Linux Centos 5.0

Integration with netflow

SNMP with OsBridge 5Xli
Hi to all and sorry for my english, i try to manage an OsBridge 5xli wireless antenna (Firmware 4.01R SNMP capable). Loook@lan and all other snmp scanner scan correctly and retrieve all information at regular port 161 and public string. Scanning with OpManager (7100 release) from MIB Browser return: Request failed or timed out. SNMP ASN1Error encountered due to Illegal SNMP packet received from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx If i try to query device from new device template i receive Device is not reachable. Check

URL and service monitors
Hello, Upgraded from OpManager 6 to 7 last week and it looks like all data has been carried over successfully. However, on more then one occasion OpManaer begins to falsely report that services and URL's are down when they are not. Usually restating the OpManager service fixes these alarms quickly, but I'd appreciate some insight into how to troubleshoot the problem. Could it be a database issue? I've run repairdb.bat multiple times. Regards, -- kyle

How do we change the URL for Scheduled Reports?
Hi everybody, I have 1 question regarding Scheduled Reports. How can we change the URL to which we have to send the report? For example, I did a scheduled report and I requested to publish the reports and send the url alone to my email adress. But it gives a wrong URL and I would like to change with one. I went to OpManager\apache\conf\httpd.conf and tried to change the Server Name or modify the variable UseCanonicalName to 'On' and 'Off' but nothing changed. Do someone know how to configure the
ESX Server template issue
What version of ESX was the vmware template created from. My 3 hosts are detected as vmware ESX, but the only monitor that works is CPU utilization. We are currently 3.01 hosts
Web Alert Question
When my web alert is fired by a device being down it doesn't automatically clear when the device comes back up. Is this the way it works or do I need to adjust my config?
Tabular Data title
Hi, I have a Novell Server, and I want to monitor the Netware volumes. I found how to get the data with the tabular Bulk monitor polling (100-(.1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.28.2.14.1.4*100/.1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.28.2.14.1.3)), however, each "Rows" are identified by .1 .2 .3 and .4. in all the displays, not quite usefull. I know that in the same table, OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.28.2.14.1.2 is the Volume name. Is there a way to specify that the "index name" of each row is the corresponding OID Value instead of .1 .2 .3
Notification Time window
It would be preferable to choose a window of office hours for the errors to be reported by email, as some of the servers and links get hammered at night due to remote backups, and the company do not wish to receive any feedback out of office hours.
Disk Space Reporting
Is there a SQL query that will enable us to extract disk storage from all our servers? We need to use this instead of using the report generation by opmanager itself since we want to make it more flexible. But if there is a way in order to export the file into excel then that would be more helpful. Thanks!
Custom WMI Monitor shows no data history
Hello, I need once again your help with a custom WMI monitor. I added a custon WMI monitor for Diskqueuelength from your support website. The monitor works fine and I can see the values if I click on "test now..." ( 0 0 0 f.ex) but OpManager doesnt record the history in the chart - always "no data available). (I configured it as a multinode) What can I do that I can see the values in the chart? Thanks in advance, Marco
Taffic monitor shows data - interface data shows traffic NA
Hi, On my Cisco router the monitors added under Traffic monitor work perfectly. But the standard section with interface data (under the Profile section) shows all traffic data as Not Available (NA) Why does this happen? greets
Notification Sounds
Hello OpManager Gurus; We would like to have Opmanager running on a workstation in our service desk area but don't have the resources to constantly check it. Is it possible to have that workstation play a notification sound with any, or just critical, alarms? If so how do we set that up? Many thanks for your insights. :?:
Managing Char Interfaces
Hi I'm configuring a new device (MIRV LX-4000 console server) in OpManager. It has 2 ethernet interfaces and 42 serial ports. I want to manage these serial interfaces with OpManager (the status can be polled via SNMP under the iso->org->dod-> internet->mgmt->mib-2->char branch), but I don't know how to do this. It would be nice to see this interfaces in interfaces tab (as the ethernets) or in a table. Any idea? Thanks in advance. Regards, Andres

Issue 1. All my interfaces are getting NA, however I can click into it and see what traffic is going on. I had this problem about 6 months ago and thought typing this in mysql, update MetaTable set ENDTIME=UNIX_TIMESTAMP(NOW()) where lookuptablename = 'ifraw' and endtime=-1; - would fix it, like it did before. However now all my interfac es are gone. Deleting the device and adding it back doesn't fix and rediscovery the interfaces didn't fix it either. Issue 2. My disk util on a linux server will

AD monitoring
I just want to monitor the cpu/memory usage of our AD server, but none of the AD features . However, nothing can be shown and it said: Active Directory Monitoring Add On Feature is not licensed. Does it mean it is "A Must" to purchase such addon...even I just wanna check basic server info? thx, Joe
OP7 SP1 Process Monitoring
On SP1 you can only monitor Windows based processes. How about different platforms like AS400, AIX , Sun Solaris etc. When will it be available. Hope you can include this on your future updates. Thanks..
Exchange 2007 on OpManager
Hi, I read on an earlier post that MAPI support may be available Q1 2008. Does this mean that Exchange 2007 will also be supported? Can OpManager use an ODBC connection to SQL 2005 server on the network as it's back-end? Thanks Stephen

Alarm Clear Notificatins
I can't get OpManager to send Clear notifications though email. I have a Notification setup to send me an email after 3 missed polls and notifiy when the alarm is cleard. I'm getting the email when the device goes down, but I'm not getting the cleared notification. I deleted the notification from one server and added it back. It worked after that, but this process only worked on that one server. I've done this on other servers, but I'm still not getting the clear notification. I'm running OpManager
Blank reports after upgrade to 5
I just upgraded to version 5 and I am having an issue again with my report exports to .pdf, and .html showing up blank. I seem to remember a hotfix fixing this issue with version 4. Is this a different issue with the 5 upgrade?
Monitoring a VMWare Host
Has anyone used OpManager to monitor a VMWare environment? The VMs seem simple enought; however, I would like to also monitor the host and my VirtualCenter server... Any thoughts?
