SNMP v3 Opmanager and Nortel/Avaya
Hello, I have over 200 Nortel/Avaya switches, mix of 5500 and 8600. I am moving all these to SNMP v3 as part of our PCI compliance. I have created new credentials in Opmanager to reflect v3. When i update a device with the new credentials, it fails , when i try to "rediscover now" again it fails. the only way i seem to be able to get Opmanager to use V3 credentials correctly is if i remove the device using RemoveDBEntries.bat, restart Opmanager Server and re-discover the device.Then it works fine
OpManager 8812 map and list views display different device numbers
Hi - I upgraded my OpManager last night from 8721 to 8812 using the upgrade packs required per ManageEngine web site (files ending 8810 and 8_1_2). After the upgrade, I noticed that when viewing my maps, the items shown are different depending on whether I am viewing the Map view or the List View. For example, Servers map view shows 42 servers, list view shows 44 servers Routers map view shows 91 routers, list view shows 109 routers Etc. Any idea how I can fix that? Thanks
Netflow plugin becomes unavailable
We are starting to have an issue where the Netflow plugin stops and no flows are being processed. We have to restart the OpManager service to get it going again. We are on the latest version of both OpManager and the Netflow plugin. We also have the NCM plugin. All are running on the same server running Windows 2008 R2 with 8GB RAM. We are looking at 70 flows from Netflow. Is there a way to monitor with OpManager port 8888 and if the Netflow plugin stops we would be alerted? It was down for
Weird Graphs
Hello, Wondering if anyone else is having the same problems I am with my graphs. I am seeing weird ups and downs in my graphs. The poll rate is 1 min but still shows the above. I am testing out opmanager and cant seem to figure out what it is. The table data shows the points just fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Jeff
Opmanager login error after upgrade
Yesterday I upgraded Opmanager from 7200 & above to 8050. While the installations didn't end with an error, I started receiving "Oops looks like a few tables got corrupted. Don't worry.. Run RepairDB.bat from bin directory and restart the server" errors when I trying to login. I tried repairdb many times, with no error messages, but that didn't solve the issue. I found log files in \logs directory that includes many errors as below. What should I do to repair this issue. I only have the conf folder
Scheduled SPM fails frequently
Hi, in our environment the switch port mapper usually fails after one or two cycles. SPM is showing "Scanning...", but nothing happens. Also scheduled scans in another Switch group doesn't happen after that. We had the issue with 50018 as well, but it still isn't fixed in v6. Anybody experiencing the same? Regards GWHome
Uptime Widget
Is there an easy way for me to get a widget to display the uptime on all my devices or devices I choose? I have the SNMP monitor already running on each server. I created a Top N for a Performance Monitor widget. But it only shows lowest ever value, highest ever value and average. I would like the current value to be displayed.
When will OpManager Distributed Version 9 be released?
Hi We are currently using version 8 and holding off configuring and exploiting it in the hope version 9 becomes available soon as promised. Is there an actual date? If we did populate all the fields in version 8 can we port this across to version 9 without haveing to type it all back in ? Thanks Andy
Mail server settings
Hi I have recently changed the mail server settings to use a different mail server. But when I set the "From Email ID" field, it is being ignored and the mail is being sent from the address that opmanager uses to authenticate with the mail server. Thanks Dave
How to duplicate OpManager to another site
Hi, I have OpManager that running fine in primary site. Since there were quite number of changes / configurations were done, is there a way we can duplicate the OpManager from primary site to other site? The most significant configuration what we done is SNMP traps, MIB files, Notification Setup, and Device template. So, doing this all over again is not a best practice and its time consuming as well. Derive new business view from existing?
Is it possible to derive a new business view from one that you have already created? I spent a good chunk of my time a few days ago creating a view of part of my infrastructure, but now I want to diagram out specific portions and it would save me tons of time if I could just derive a new view, delete all the irrelevant items for that portion of my infrastructure, and then save that view as a new one.

Is there any way, other than deleting and then rediscovering, to rediscover several devices from list view (servers, switches etc...) ?

Hi Gabriel, I can view all trunk state in MIB browser just need an OID for example: .1.3.6.1.4.1.6889.2.8.1.14.1.1.4 but in OPManager need add OID one by one for example: .1.3.6.1.4.1.6889.2.8.1.14.1.1.4.1.1 .1.3.6.1.4.1.6889.2.8.1.14.1.1.4.1.2 ..... How to show all state in OPManager?
Problem creating downtime schedule
Hi. I am using OpManager 8 (build 8052) and have an issue with the Downtime Scheduler for monitoring URLs. Some of our web sites are offline from 8pm until 7am the next day so I want to schedule downtime for this time window. However, when I set the start time to 20:00 and the end time to 07:45 it generates this error: End time should be greater than start time How can I get around this? I tried creating 2 schedules, the first from 20:00 to 00:00 and then a second from 00:00 to 07:00 but
Configure Network Interfaces for monitoring by OpManager
I am running OpManager 8 on Windows and have several Ubuntu 10.04 LTS servers. I have been able to get pretty much everything I want configured but cannot find a way to make OpManager identify the ethernet interface(s) in the servers. I haven't been able to find any information on net-SNMP or in the forums here.
Can only see one MSSQL instance
My SQL server have two instances but OpManager can only see one. Tried to rediscover. Tried to "Add Monitor" under "MSSQL Services" but the second instance is not listed.
Bug Notification profile alert time window
Hello, I have a problem with Opmanager 8 build 8050. When I try to make a new Notification Profile Rule for sending mails alerts, in a device (Add Profile > Select a Notification Profile > Define Criteria > Apply this profile during the below mentioned time window), I define From 18:00 To 08:00, all days, but this rule does't work after 23:59. Alerts are not send by mail ! I think that the problem is because the window exceeds 23:59. If this is true, how can I do otherwise? I need to create another
Manage vs Status Poll
Hello, I'd like to know why OpManager 8 is raising discard alarm on a switchport when that switchport is not set to Status Poll. It is configured only as Manage to gather data but when it receives a discard paquet, OpManager raises an alarm. thank you

MIB browsing within OpManager - sort alphabetically?
I have MIBs uploaded for custom devices, Cisco, HP, etc..and I now find that browsing to a specific MIB to create a new SNMP monitor can be quite a headache. It would be great if the drop down menu for selecting MIBs as well as the MIB browser could sort alphabetically.
Availability Graph not showing
All of a sudden we have a Cisco 2800 which the availability is not showing up properly. We've attempted to repair the database but no issues were found. All other parts of the router graphing are working properly. Here are some screen shots of what it looks like.

opmanager AD widget dashboard

Add new map image for business views
Hi I have been through this forum and understand that any new maps need to be .png or .jpg and all names need to be in lowercase. I also understand they need to be in ManageEngine\OpManager\images\maps. I have done this yet when I go into properties of existing business views, I still cannot see the map image. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Exchange Monitoring Setup
I am trying to add Exchange monitoring to one of my exchange boxes. Once i select the exchange version (2010) it is asking for Public and Mailbox store locations. Does it want the path in drive format for that server. so e:\Exchange\ect.....? Also, How do i go back and add more mailbox stores if i just did 1 as a test?
Interface tab with no data
Hi. I just added a Catalyst switch with snmp v.3 configured. The cpu and memory monitors were set ok. But there's no interface at interface tab. I tried to rediscover them, but nothing happens. At Actions / Configure Ports menu, i see the interface list. All of them is there. But still nothing at interface tab. I went to the MIB browser and tried to get the information. It was list with sucess. Any help? I got 10 more switches to add, but i'll only do that if i can monitor all the interfaces. Thanks.

Netflow Plugin No Longer Recognizes License
Since upgrading the netflow plugin from 8500 to 9000, it no longer recognizes our license and restricts us down to monitoring the default 2 interfaces.

OpManager 8811 Monitoring of ESXi 4.1 Hosts
Good afternoon, I have read various threads on this subject and haven't found anything conclusive as to how to fix my problem. I desperately need to be able to monitor our 6 ESX hosts, and despite SSH being enabled on the hosts I am still getting "503 Service Unavailable" when I try to connect to https://<esx host>//ui - if I connect to https://<esx host> I get the 'Welcome' page come up fine. I tried to get remote support via the normal support option last week but until now haven't heard anything
Daylight Saving changes not reflected in OpManager
On weekend there was a daylight saving change that moved time forward one hour in Sydney, Australia. The time showing in OpManager for 'real time' on all servers is displaying 1 hour behind. The time on all servers is correct. As a result scheduled downtime is not blocking alarms from server reboots and other alerts are being sent during the day but showing time of incident as one hour earlier . How can this be rectified? Help with custom SNMP monitor for 3G router's signal strength
We have some 3G routers from Digi that have their own MIBs. We would like to monitor the signal strength. The MIB provided (.1.3.6.1.4.1.332.11.6.3.3.1.4) gives us this as a result: "3 of 4 bars (-83 dBm)". I created a new device template, then created a new SNMP monitor using this OID. However no data gets collected. If I got to a specific devices page and do Test Monitor I do get a return for Monitor Value. I could understand difficulty with this being graphed as it is not a strict numerical value.
