snmp disk and memory problem
i want to buy the product but first i need to check the trial version .. all is working great but i have a problem with snmp on linux : ManageEngine is installed on a slackware 10 machine and i have 250 computers in vpn and lan to monitor ... windows stations are well monitored but linux stations have problems ... snmp provides me only CPU utilization, description and network interfaces and no record in memory and disk utilization ... i configured snmd.conf as in ManageEngine help documentation ..

Missing/Problematic Features
A few questions ... Although Windows Event Logging is adveritised, I cannot find it anywhere in the latest build of OpManager 5 (5009). I only want to manage select ports on my switches. I have went to "port aliases" and cleared the "manage" check boxes for ports I do not want to manage. However, they remain in graphic views and interface tables. Why? James
oputils seems very unreliable
this is a great program, and I love the functionality...but it seems to crash an awful, awful lot...i am getting a lot of messages from our operations folk complaining that it is down....then i have to stop and restart it... any hints on how to make this more reliable?
No MS SQL Server Cache Hit Ratio values in OPManager

Hello, I've installed the trial version of OPMANAGER 1 week ago. Today, as I log myself into OPMANAGER as admin, I wasn't admin anymore. I can just see the menu Home, Maps, Alarms, Reports and Help. I can't see the menu admin anymore. Maybe it is normal for the trial version. Maybe you desactive the admin skills of the admin user account 1 week after the installation. I recently set this up for home use since I liked it at work. Does the free version of the utils work with the free version of the manager? Are they seperate? My browser just times out when I try to connect to the utils site at 7080 Cheers

OpManager5 Blows Up Under 2003 Server
Hey guys, im having a problem here. Recently my trusty old 2k server kicked the bucket so we loaded 2003 enterprise edition on the replacement. Third piece of software i installed on the box (right after MSSQL2000 and trusty ol solarwinds) was a standard install of OpManager5. Set it to port 82 (so there are no conflicts with IIS) and set it to run stand-alone (Not a Service) and when i goto start opmanager for the first time after the install, the loading bar makes it all the way and i get a popup

Hello, How can I force an immediate rediscovery ?. In fact, I have some new services on some machines that are not discovered for the moment. I don't want to add them manually, beacause there is a lot of machines that are inpacted. In the software I can only say that OPMANAGER has to do a rediscovery once a day. But I want to do that now. Please can you clarify a question I have regarding SMS notifications. I note that the messages have to be routed via our mail server. If we have an outage to our SMTP server, how do the SMS messages get forwarded? What are the alternatives for the SMS messages to be sent?
monitoring performance conters of Windows by SNMP?
I am trying to figure out how to monitor performance counters on windows machines using SNMP, such as processor \%processor time, process\Private Bytes, process\Virtual Bytes, process\Handle count, etc. We want to monitor ASP.NET performance. opmanager5 free edition licensing question
The web site states: Installing OpManager Free Edition allows you manage 10 critical devices in your network. The Free Edition never expires and you get almost all functionality of the Professional Edition (except technical support from AdventNet) However, I can only enable 5 monitors per device. If I try to enable more than 5, it says they were sucessfully added, but never show up on the snapshot page. If I go back in to the "services" page, they are unchecked. Am I correct that the limitation is

Interface Line Speeds
Is there is a way to change the interface speed for the serial interfaces on our Cisco 1700 series router? They are all by default listed at 1.46 Mbps but most of our serial interfaces actually connect through fram relay circuits at 56k or 128k. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Is it possible to create a graph or report to compare the interfaces on two routers? I'm looking for a way to look at both ends of a link to see if they are consistent with each other.
OpManager 5 problems...
Hello everyone, I'm evaluating software currently that will enable my company to monitor a number of servers at various locations that are connected to the Internet. OpManager 5 seems a good product but for some 'strange' reason although I can add a Windows Small Business Server 2003 Server in the servers menu there is no way I can get OpManager to 'see' that the server has a Web Server installed! Even if I manually go and add the services after I click 'OK' the service disappears which is very annoying...
How to send periodic reports ?
Hello, I'm a new user of OpManager. I'm wondering if there is any way to send by mail periodic reports of my network health. The Web Based Management is not accessible from the Internet, due to the security policy of the firm. But I want to get somes informations about the network when I'm out of the firm for a long time. Can't add ANY services
I just installed OpManager, and it doesn't detect several services running on my primary server including httpd, https, ftp etc.... I tried to add them manually.. and then tried creating new custom services on port 80 etc... and I add them, it says it addes them... but they never show up??? Any ideas???
New device type & Show graph
Sir, 1. When I add new device type. I get this error message "Already a Device Type is present for this OID". But I cannot found any device type with same OID. How to fix it? 2. I can add the graph in the device. But...How can the graph show on the "Snapshot" page when using web client. Like the Cisco device. The "Cpu Utilization", "Memory Utilization" and etc are show on the bottom part. Samuel.

Hello, I have been trialling the free (10 device)version of Opmanager and I have a number of questions as follows. 1. Disk space usage only shows Total utilisation - is there a way of breaking this down by volume? 2. I can only get meaningful data from Windows 2000/2003 Servers. Alarms Report
In Opmanager 5 build 5006, from the client, there is a Reports/Alarms Report option. I can't find any mention in the help file or in this forum. Of course, mine is blank but I do have alarms (reason I've been looking into it). What might I be doing wrong? I'm assuming it should be some kind of report of the alarms that have happened over the past "period". The report DOES seem to generate, but then comes up with "data not available". Tom

Monitoring servers on private networks
Is it possible to monitor servers that are NAT'ed behind a firewall, so that a client can push the information to the server at regular intervals? We need to monitor a lot of networks where most of the servers are hidden behind firewalls with private addresses on the LAN and only one public IP, and I am having a hard time finding the right tool for the job. After installation on Linux (ASP Linux 9 Ural) i execute StartOpManagerServer.sh script from <OpManager_Home>/bin directory. Script up all services an say: Verifying connection with web server ...License check successful verified OpManager modules started successfully Please connect your client to the web server on port: 8010 When i connect to OpManager server from my web browser and put username and password (admin, admin) i see message "Error!". Hi, I have trialed and then subsequently purchased OpManager the trial was installed on my laptop (XP) and the full version has been installed on a win 2K server. I've done nothing differently when installing the product but the version on the server is not picking up CPU and disk utilization but the laptop is any Ideas?? Thanks Gareth

reduced views for mini operators/end customers
Is it possible to reduce the visibility of resources, network elements, views etc. in WebClient for special users? e.g. create a number of "mini operators" where each one can see only a reduced number of devices, interfaces, bussiness views, reports, specified during creation.

Re: OpManager5 running on Windows 2003 I've setup Business Views, both with backgrounds and without, that appear in the web client but return an "Error!" message and blank page.

Is it possible to edit the startpage from a user who logs in. Default the admin user sees everything. When i specify a new user i can specify which maps i want this user to see, but i can't edit the other views (top 10 mem/cpu utilization) etc...
