I have installed adventnet manage engine free version.I have also loaded the mibs for Canopy devices .The devices support snmp2c .The device requires authentication before snmp query can be done. I could not find anywhere in settings for mib browser the option to specify root password.The same is given only for snmp3 . Can u let me know how to go about this..?
CATOS CPU Usage and AIX memory
Dear Kevin, I have checked the cpu usage OID of the Cisco Catalyst 6509 CATOS7.6 is OID1: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.5.9 and I also added the customizing monitor via browser client. But when I test monitor for this device. The result is that the monitor is not response. The oid is: OID2: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.5.9.0 please tell why the OID2 automatically add a ".0". I also use MibBrowser.sh to test the OID1: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.5.9 and load CISCO-MIB. The testing result is OK. Please

CPU Utilization using Linux/SSH
Few issues with the CPU resource monitor using Linux/SSH CLI. a) Is there any way to check the load average of a linux system istead of just cpu utilization. b) In the following case the threshold (90%) was violated at 6:38AM and the alert was sent out but i still havent received followup notification indicating the cpu utilization is back to normal. SNMP info through a firewall
Hello: I have a boarder router on the outside of my firewall with SNMP configured on it. I can get the basic info from it but I can not get detailed traffic info. I configured the firewall to pass all the traffic, but still am not seeing all the info. For testing I opened UDP traffic and TCP traffic in both directions but no luck. Any ideas?

Cisco Switch Alarm:port down - but port not managed?

I would like to monitor some of the counters available in the windows-nt-performance mib. I noticed on your oputils online demo that this mib was available however it is not included in the downloadable install of opmanager or oputils. 1) How can I get this mib? 2) How do I add this mib to opmanager? 3) Does it also need to be installed somehow on the hosts i wish to monitor?
Moving all configuration information to a new server
I am testing OpManager on a Windows box and have entered a lot of information. How can I move this set of information (servers/routers/printers/business views/alert rules/etc) to a new server (UNIX)? Is it as simple as copying some configuration files to the target machince? If so which ones? Speaking of this - how to I run backups of my configuration in case the monitoring box goes down? Thanks! Juniper Router Stats
Is there any way to get Opmanager 5.6 to show interface stats and memory/CPU for juniper Routers? I have added my Junipers as custom devices and loaded the MIBs to the MIB folder. I can see the interfaces but I cannot get any stats to show. Am I missing the boat here or is this somethign that Opmanager cannot do?
SSL on OpManager
Hello, I'm trying to put SSL on my existing OpManager installation. I recompiled the Apache Webserver with the SSL module without to much problems. When SSL is activated in the Apache configuration, OpManager doesn't start up. However, everything works fine with the new compiled Apache when SSL is disabled. Do I have to change the config of OpManager somewhere ? Do you have a kind of HOWTO for SSL on OpManager ? Regards, Sacha
Firewall monitoring
Hi all, I have to firewalls CISCO PIX and S-box (checkpoint safe@office). For some reason i cannot monitor any of them. I provided the username and password for s-box but it's not working, moreover Pix doesn't ask for any username when you connecting to it from ssh/telnet. I configured the snmp community on PIX - and still nothing. Please help....
Real remote monitoring
I want to know if the following is possible. I have 3 custumors, each with a DSL line. I want to monitor the server and servr apllication's. I dont want a VPN connetion to the custumors so on the custumors side i need to install a sort of agent that send data to the monitoring system. Is this possible?
Cannot Uninstall/Reinstall OpManager
I have been using the free version of OpManager. For various reasons I have had to uninstall/reinstall it a couple of times. I have been trying to re-install it after de-installing it, but every time I run the installation, I get a message saying 'do you want to uninstall opmanager?' I say Yes, the process finishes, then I run the installer again to re-install, and get the same message again. I have checked the registry and the file system, and I can't find anything to do with OpManager in either,

How to remove OpManager Service
I am trying to install OpManager. I previously was using the free version. I ran the uninstall from the Control Panel. Now when I go to re-install OpManager I get a message saying 'do you want to uninstall opmanager?'. I reply yes, then get a message telling me that the OpManager service is being removed. The process runs to completion. I then try to run the installer again, and get a message asking me if I would like to remove Opmanager. I then get a message saying the service is being removed.
Disk Utilization 100% for Windows 2003 Server
Hi, I have some servers whose OS are Windows 2003 server with more than one SCSI harddisks. However, when I use opmanager to monitor the servers after serveral weeks. The Disk Utilization % always reaches 100%. When I delete the server and add the server again. It is OK again. For another Windows 2000 Servers, they are no problem at all. How can I fix this problem in Windows 2003 Servers? Thx Kevin
Cisco Catalyst 4006-sw problem
This switch is automatically detected as a router and then i can get the details of the CPU and Memory utilization. But When I change the category from router to switch i can get only memory utilization !! ....why is this happening. I tried changing the snmp oid string which the switch used when configured as router but still the TEST MONITOR shows error. PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!

Server Snapshot Monitor icons disappearing
This one is kind of odd. I've been accessing monitors via the web client a lot today and suddently most of my monitors "disappeared". My resource monitor section shows I have no resource monitors, but I know they are there. In fact, the graphs are still being updated. I've attached a screen shot. Any ideas? Walt

Errors with my profiles
Hello all, I have a problem with profiles notification, for example after create one I want to edit it. When I click on edit in the notification profiles page, the webbrowser show me up errors which should be debug or not. (see the screenshot attached) I have already delete and recreate several of these profiles but I get always the same errors (see the screenshot). Thanks for yours answers.

Dell PowerEdge MIB's
Hi Folks. We've been using opmanager for awhile and are having good results so far. Recently we have had some issues trying to get Dell MIBs to work. We create a custom monitor and it looks to us as though the Dell MIBs are "restricted" in terms of what we can check for. Any of the sections we really want to check (disk array failures, controller failures, etc) are not available when we drill down through the tree. Has anyone gotten this working with OpManager? effective load average monitor
I'm working on trying to get an effective Load Average monitor working in OpManager. I did email support but the answer they sent back indicated they didn't really read my questions. Here are the relevant entries from my conf files. My command line works. If I run this command line on a Linux hosts, it gives me back correct looking output. If I run this through OpManager, I get unexpected output and nothing gets graphed. The gist of this is I'm trying to come up with a metric based on Load Average
Wrong IF names/numbers with Opmanager 5.5
We are testing OPmanager 5.5 and notice that the interface-Numbers/Names are wrong. If Opmanager queries an Fortigate he never get the internal interface and mix up if-names and the coresponding ports. So you end up with an interface wan2 with is the port wan1 and so on. Exchange Info Store shows N/A Disk usage
I've seen similar problems on here but the recommended fixes havent worked for me. Whats happening is most of the monitors for the exchange addon work fine except for the Information Store, in particular interest to me is the Disk Space monitors. The disk space monitors say n/a. However, alot of the other features of the addon work. I tried running a command called wmiadap /f or something like that but still nothing.
Discovery
Discovery is detecting Cisco 3550 catalysts as Cisco 3100 or 3200 systems. SNMP is enabled. The default device database does include 3550 mibs. What is the problem?

Escalation Email Rules & Email Profiles on LINUX
I've recently installed OpManager 5.6 on a Red Hat 9.0 server. I've encountered issues with Notifications & Escalations. I've created several Email Profile for Notifications but when I go back to edit any one of them, the screen just says "Error!" instead of showing the form to edit a profile. ALso when I attempt to edit an Alarm Escalation Rule, the browser reports that runtime error has occurred in line 1539 with the error: Object expected. Can we use the manageengine to send alerts to mobile or email the alerts if something goes wrong with the server like server is running out of space or some device is not responding. I am trialing the software as I downloaded it today.
Disabling Auto Discover
Hi I have done a subnet discovery, and kept the devices i want, and removed the ones i dont want (eg deleted the desktops, i dont want to manage these with OM). Is there a way to turn off automatic rediscovery - the maximum value is 15 days, I dont want the deleted devices re-appearing Deleting the subnet from discovery settings deletes all nodes in that subnet, so that wont work THanks Dave
Opmanager and Event Analyzer
Is anyone running Event Analyzer and Opmanager on the same machine? If I get Event Analyzer started then Opmanager seems to stop and Visa Versa.
