Cisco Switch Alarm:port down - but port not managed?

HI there,

I'm using OpManager 5.5 build 5510.

I'm spending so much time trying to configure this to work that the cost is far outweighing the value for me.

Please can you explain why my switch is sending me an alarm that FastEtho 0/10 is down when that port is not one of the ones enabled for port management?

Interface down : ifIndex: 11, ifDescr: FastEthernet0/10, ifType: 6, .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.20.11: down
