could not access the object after upgrade the windows patch
Hi I just upgraded the patch of windows recently released. But I found out that all object (including server, router and switches) no longer can be displayed. It also replied the error messages no this object with IP address. Anybody help

Hello, I have a problem with adding more then 9 devices to the map of business view. If i try to add more else, they don't show in the map. :(

Hi, I would like monitor (Application Monitors) more than 1 SQL instance. By default, the default instance is available to be monitored. - do you have a workaround to select a specific instance (e.g. SERVERSQL$INSTANCE2) and a workaround to duplicate the server discovered? no Domain controllers
I have installed the eval version and ran discovery. I having a couple of issues with what is being discovered. First, OpMan is classifing almost all of my servers as Desktop and not finding the OS type. Second, it is not classifing any of my servers as Domain Controllers. I ran a discovery on the subnet for our servers, it appears that all of the servers were found. Thx, Eric

Hi everyone, Running OpManager on a windows2003 server. Is there a way to monitor specific processes for how much resources they are sucking up? I'd like to recieve notifications on certain processes when they are utilizing a certain amount of CPU or Memory. Is this possible? Thanks! Jeremy

Fortigate 3000 Firewall
I have a Fortigate 3000 firewall with multiple VLANs defined. When I attempt to monitor it with OPManager, I cannot get OPManager to monitor anything on this particular unit at all. It sees one interface, but I get no traffic stats, there is no CPU utilization or any other useful statistics. It is critical that I get this particular item monitored since it is our main backbone router. Could someone toss me an idea or two about how to get things going with this unit? Turning off automatic network discovery
how can I switch off automatic network and device discovery? it finds automatically too many devices, I don't need to monitor them, and it takes me a lot of time to delete them manuallyfrom the views. thank you.

OID issues
I am trying to create some custom monitors for CPU utilization but when I insert the OID (say .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.5.2), Opmanager adds ".0" resulting in invalid OID for CPU utilization. How can I avoid OpManager from forcing this?
Probe does not send 3COM interface details for some ports
I am having a 3com switch on one of my Probe. Model number 3C17701-US If I connect to the probe, I see all channels. I can click on the channels and I see trafic information etc. If I connect to the central, I see only channels up to 19 ( on the pictoral representation). If I click on the switch device, I see device details, and in the interface part at the bottom of the page, I see all channels, but for port 20 and up, rather than seeing counters in the RX TX utilizations, I see N/A ??? although,

If it is possible If a node that was unmanaged, any alarms acssociated with it would automatically clear.
OpManager support transient devices?
I want to monitor transient wireless devices on my network and be notified when they appear. Opmanager will not let you add a device unless it can find the device which makes this impossible. Is there a way to do this with OpManager or do you have other software that can do this? Thanks, Mike

Event Logs not setting Alarms Off
Hello, I have Opmanager configured and working, but I cannot get a server to set off alarms even though I have configured the options. I have checked the "Any Security failure" option and when I test this, my event log registers but no alert from Opmanager.

Please refer to the below picture. we set up business view for test1 and chinese test(picture bs11.jpg and bs12.jpg) via your java client(StartOpmanagerClient.bat). Going nuts with traffic monitors
Hello Everyone, We're just pulling our hair out with this. For now (because we can't get it working at the switch level) we're monitoring network at the server level. We run all Linux boxes. On one particular server we set a monitor to go off if the TX traffic exceeded 650 kbps (put 650 in for the value). We set the rearm at 575 kbps (put 575 in for the value). We started a process that produced a large volume of TX traffic. Sure enough the alarm went off (all good). Then we shut down our testing

Hi, It would be nice if you consider in your future update an option to display a list of devices and their assigned IP addresses. For example click on a particular subnet in Network View menu and have an option in the sort by to list the devices and their IP addresses sorted by IP address. Mapmaker won't start anymore
Hello, We had mapmaker working and created some business views. I went to use it today to update the views and it's just hanging at "client initializing". I can see in the OpManager logs that it's connecting/logging into OpManager. The only thing that I can think of is that we deleted/added some devices and maybe that messed it up? Frank
Load MIB in MSP?
We are trying out the MSP version and I can't find the standalone MIB browser that was in the previous version of OpManager. Is there another way to load them?
Inventory Reports in Opmanager
Hello, I am evaluating Opmanager 6 & was wondering if there was any way to create custom 'Inventory Reports' that include 'Additional Fields' added through the adminstrative interface (i.e. serial number, cabinet, etc)? If this is not available via the existing GUI, is there any way I can develop my own and have them displayed in the 'Inventory Reports' section of the Reports page (of course, any pointers on how to do this would be helpful)? - Brian

Hi all, I have (in my test environment) 3 member servers and 3 dc's (all running Win2003 Ent). i can get all the servers monitored without problem in Opmanager, but is there anyway I can all the servers in one view as my client wants to be able to view all servers and status of services etc in one screen without having to go clicking around. Interface description incorrect on Cisco CAT IOS
On our Cisco switches running CAT IOS the interface name is not displying correctly for the switchports. They are all generically named "10/100 utp ethernet (cat 3/5)". When OpManager looks at the switches running Cisco IOS the description are correct. What is the fix for this?
