Unapproved patches with dc in auto-approve mode?
Hi, today I got a strange phenomen: Patches for firefox (32 and 64 bit) are unapproved but testing mode is automatic so all patches should be automaticly approved. How can I approve these 2 patches?
Having issues with automated patch mgmt -
Hey. So we're trying to automate patching servers When testing we noticed after a server is done installing updates it reboots but then it does not check for updates again, DC only seems to do one wave of updates. We then created 2 deployment times on the same day 9AM-12PM and 4PM-8PM This time after rebooting it did the updates again but only with our 2nd deployment time however after everything was done, I logged in again and the server still had more pending updates. Is there a way configure DC
New iTunes patch 12.1.2 isn't detected as missing from Win 8.1 machine with iTunes 11.4 installed
We're running build 90145, and there's a new iTunes patch detection, as of last night, for iTunes v12.1.2. One of our Win 8.1 (x64) Dell tablets has iTunes 11.4 installed. Its patch summary had been showing that it needs the latest iTunes patch 12.x installed. Now this morning, it's no longer showing that it needs the iTunes patch v12.1.2. Have you intentionally changed the logic of Patch Mgmt to only show iTunes v11.x patches for installed versions < v12.0? Or is the new patch 12.1.2 just not
Deploying 600034-JavaForOSX2013-004
I am having problems delploying this patch to our Mac OS machines. The configurations get "Download failed" errors. I have tried to download the patches but i get a checksum error from Desktop central. I went to Oracle and tried to manually download the patch and rename it and put it in depository folder but it still fails. All my other patches are working fine and there's plenty of space on the server. Our webfilter/firewall are also not affecting this machine. Is there anything else I can try to
Mozilla Firefox 22 showing as an OS update
Apologies if this has already been asked: It appears that Mozilla Firefox version 22 is known to Desktop Central patch database, but it's showing up as an OS patch instead of third party. This is happening consistently across our 150 managed clients, and it hasn't ever happened with prior versions of Firefox. Is this a known bug, or is Firefox now considered part of Windows 7/Windows XP by Zoho Corp? Thanks.
URL link invalid.
I was checking my automated deployment status when I noticed that there was a warning indicating that not all patches were deployed due to it not being able to download some patches from the server. This has a link to read more detail on the error. When I click on the link it gets a page can not be displayed error because of the URL that the page is trying to go to. The URL that the link refers to is: http://www.http//www.manageengine.com.com/products/desktop-central/patch-management-not-all-missing-patches-could-be-deployed-due-to-patch-download-failure.html?dci
Some Patches not shown in Applicable Patches
Dear Manage Engine, I've been notice this problem since version 7 and version 8, the Applicable Patches not shown all patches but only show the new patches or some old patches. For example i would like to deploy patches KB958644, KB958687 and KB2121440 for Windows XP, i've success download them and deploy to agent. But from 3 patches i've deploy i'm only seen KB958644 in the Applicable Patches. I've include the attachment Is there anyway that i could put all All Supported Patches into Applicable
Patch detection for Mozilla Firefox 37.0.1?
I'm not seeing any patch detection for Mozilla Firefox v37.0.1, which became available starting April 3rd (three days ago). Is there a reason for the delay? According to the official Release Notes: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/37.0.1/releasenotes/ there are some important security and bug fixes in this release, and I'd like the ability to scan and patch our enterprise workstations as soon as possible. (Yes, I understand that I could push the entire Firefox v37.0.1 package out to all affected
Automate Patch Deployment doesn't wake up PCs
I have an automate patch deployment task which uses this deployment policy: http://screencast.com/t/SUszXEHIVhr As you can see, this task should wake up the PCs. But it doesn't. We can wake up the PCs manually from MEDC, so this is not the issue. Do we have a configuration problem? (we are still evaluating, so bear with us).
Desktop Central not detecting MSRT on XP
Hello, Having just completed a Patch Scan with the most recent Patch database on one of my XP systems, I discovered something interesting... The XP system is telling me that an update to the MSRT tool (KB 890830) is available. Unfortunately, Desktop Central is telling me that no patches are available for this system. Shouldn't Desktop Central still detect this available update? Anthony
Require Reboot
I installed some patches to some PC's through Desktop Central 8. When I went back to look at the PC's where the patches were installed, under Remarks it said Reboot Required. I had the user reboot and the message was still there. How long does it take for Desktop Central to update this message? Also is there a way for me to get a report of all the PC's that has been logged in within the last month?

Vulnerability DB Update Failed
Hi Team, I am currently having issues with the vulnerability database on my server (Desktop central MSP 8) not updating. It says that the last successful update was on Feb 13, and it has failed on every attempt since then. This happens both with the scheduled update and a manual update. If I click on the "Failure" link to get more detail, it just says "Failed to Update the Vulnerability DataBase on 2013-03-19 09:00:00". I have uploaded the "Patchdownloadlog" from server for your reference at below
Automate patch deployment reboot policy
Hi, We are facing problem in “ManageEngine Desktop Central MSP 8” that during Automate Patch Deployment, Restart Pop-Up is coming very frequently on user’s system (even after restarting whenever asked to restart). Current reboot policy is “Allow user to skip Reboot”. We need to find an option to deploy all missing patches in one shot and need only one reboot after the FINAL patch deployment. Please suggest that is there any option to fulfill our requirement. Thanks in advance Regards Tejvir
Custom Group Change - Patches were installed
Hello, I was hoping you could help me out with an issue just occurred today with Desktop Central. I moved 4 machines that were not in any groups into an existing Custom Group with no issues. About an hour later I received a call from the business owners of those servers stating that Windows Patches were pushed out and installed on them. From the Admin > Action Log Viewer I am unable to find any information as to when and what patches were pushed out to these 4 servers and what time. Can you provide
Missing vs. Failed
I'm doing an automate patch push and I'm getting A LOT of machines that say for example "4 patches missing" yet after deployment it says "4 patches failed" I'm not sure what is going on. When i go to the windows directly on said machine, the KB*.log file isn't even present. I'm supposed to patch over 1000 machines tonight and I don't feel confident in DesktopCentral at this point..
Deployment Failed
What does this mean "only applicable for future deployments"?
Build 80123 triggers Patch deployment, without one being scheduled
I just updated Desktop Central to Build 80123 within our organization. Upon doing so, multiple computers began being patched by Desktop Central, despite no configuration or automated process being scheduled. How / why did this happen? This has never been the case with past updates, and I am worried it's going to force our entire organization to reboot in the middle of the work day.
Client not communicating with server
We have a laptop where the client is not communicating with server. We tried to do an uninstall, reinstall of the client, but it can't verify the OTP number to do the uninstall. We tried doing it from the server side, but it just errors out. There is
Update Vulnerability DB fails
I had to fall back to a backup of our Desktop Central server, version 80001 (July 2012). I applied successive service packs and releases to bring it back up to version 80262, and I reapplied the new license file so that it's registered through July 2014. Things are almost back to normal, but when I try to manually "Update Vulnerability DB" the process runs, getting to the point of downloading patch SQLs (successfully) and then syncing security updates (fails after a couple of minutes). I tried
False positive for Win XP patch 15117 (KB2909210)
I'm noticing that all eight of our remaining Win XP Pro (32-bit) workstations are showing that they're missing Paatch 15117 (KB2909210) even though we've applied all of the latest MS updates using Microsoft Update back on 11 February. As a test, I used Desktop Central to download the update, then manually installed it on one Win XP workstation, then rebooted it, then rescanned it with Desktop Central. It's still showing that it's missing patch 15117. This looks like another false positive. Can
False positives for two .Net 4.5.1 updates (15026 and 15028)
Win 7 + SP1 (x64) workstations. Yesterday, after applying latest MS updates using Windows Update, machines were coming up clean when scanned by Desktop Central -- all MS updates released 11 Feb (and earlier) were installed. This morning, after a Desktop Central patch DB update (to fix the Malicious Software Removal download checksum error), the machines are all showing that they're missing .Net 4.5.1 updates 15026 and 15028. I've gone to one of the machines and manually installed the Desktop Central
Problem with checksum on Malicious Software Removal Tool v5.9 (x64)
I've tried several times to download the latest MS Malicious Software Removal Tool v5.9 (x64) through Service Desk 8 (Build 80339). It downloads and the file size looks identical to the one I downloaded manually from microsoft.com, but I always see a "checksum doesn't match" error and the patch (ID = 15105) is still showing up as "Not yet downloaded" -- is this a known bug? Is there a workaround, such as manually downloading the MRT into the proper store folder? Thanks.
Java deployment still not working correctly
When I rollout any version of java, I always set it to only install during startup. Ever since 9 came out that setting is ignored and java is installed immediately on the target computers. Java then is not installed properly and a manual install is required. Java 7.60 just came out and I decided to test deployment. I am still experiencing the same bad deployment issue that I had with 7.55 and DC 9. I recently upgraded our build to 90023 and the issue is still there. Has anyone experienced the same
False Positive - Security Update for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 (KB2917500)
Desktop Central (Build No. 80332) is showing patch Security Update for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 (KB2917500) missing on Windows 7 and Server 2008 workstations.
Shockwave update 12.1.2.152 fails
Hi all Did anyone manage to install the latest Shockwave patch? I have tested this on several PCs but I am getting a "fatal error" on all of them. The Windows event log revealed the following: Product: Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1 -- Error 1316.A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:Program FilesDesktopCentral_Agentpatches300885-sw_lic_full_installer.msi Thanks Stefan

Patch Mgmt and Inventory support for new 64-bit Google Chrome browser?
I see this morning that the Win and Mac versions of Chrome v37.0.2062.94 are now detected. When I install the new 64-bit version of Chrome v37.0.2062.94 on a Win 7 SP1 workstation, then scan it for patches and assets, the 64-bit version is showing up exactly the same as the 32-bit version. There doesn't seem to be any detection of the 64-bit version. This will make it difficult to roll out the 64-bit version to our 64-bit workstations and tablets, if DesktopCentral can't tell us which ones are
Desktop Central - Vulnerability DB updates failing
Desktop Central - Updates to vulnerability DB fails. Desktop Central Build 90046 Since 9/9/2014 automatic and manual attempts to update the Desktop Central vulnerability database have been failing. New false positive for patch 7753 (MS09-060) Outlook 2003 security update
This morning I'm seeing a whole bunch of hosts (supposedly) missing patch 7753 (MS09-060), a security update for MS Outlook 2003 (KB973705). Only problem is, the machines are running MS Office 2010. On one machine, I tried manually installing the patch, and I was informed the prerequisite software isn't installed -- which I kind of figured. Are you getting other reports of this issue? I'm on the latest available release of Desktop Central and I've just refreshed my patch database a half hour
KB3010060

Use DFS as a Patch repository
Hi, We are in the process of deploying Desktop Central and we ran into a bit of an issue. We are using DFS replication for the Software and Patch repository. We have started replicating the DFS now to 2 of our sites for testing and we noticed that the patches are not being pulled from the DFS share by the agent but is getting it directly from the Desktop Central Server. We have a number of sites that we have to manage and we cannot push patches across the link during normal hours as the lines will
New false positive for patch 15630/15631 (MS14-030) on Win 7 SP1 32/64-bit
Has anyone else noticed in the past few days that a Windows 7 patch released back in June 2014 is showing up as a false positive on some or all workstations: Patch 15630 / 15631 (MS14-030) Security update for RDP vulnerabilities Out of 180 Win 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) workstations, approximately 125 are affected at my site. This was occurring on build 90066 and is still occurring on build 90075 (applied Saturday morning) and with the latest Vulnerability DB update. Thanks.
MS14-066
I have seen , from view lastest patches , the appear, but from view All Patches only appear Patch to Windows not servers. View All Patch View Last Patch It is possible that the cause is I haven`t downloaded ??
User prompted to "Click to skip reboot" but no button is present
After patches are installed using automated patch management, the user is given a countdown clock until restart. They are told that they have the option to "Click to skip reboot", but there is only a "Reboot Now" button. Users need a skip or delay reboot option, similar to Windows Updates, so they are not interrupted if they are working during the patch update window.
Patch Management information is not the same as in Configurations
Good Morning We have a customer which has a lot of issues on his Desktop Central, On of these issue he is having is regarding Patch Management, The Missing Patches section always is showing that the computers are missing about 1052 but this number never changes. At the same time on the configurations the number shows that about 80 to 90% of the patches were applied successfully. Client has the latest build with is 90087 and everytime we upgrade his issues on the application do not get fixed.
New false positive for patch 100672 (MSWU-1150) on Win 7 SP1 and MS Office 2010
It looks like patch 100672 (MSWU-1150) was released on December 8th. All of our Win 7 SP-1 / Office 2010 workstations had been showing that it was installed or not needed. Suddenly this morning we have 68 machines (out of a total 180+) that are showing that they require the patch. On one of the affected machines, I tried manually installing the patch and was told it didn't apply to the system in question. Anyone else notice this behavior today? Thanks.
Four new false positives when MS .NET 4.5.2 (KB2901983) is installed
Windows 7 SP1 x64 workstations, Desktop Central build 90011. With the new MS .NET 4.5.2 (KB2901983) installed, Patch Management now reports four older MS .NET patches are missing: Patch 16466 Patch 16229 Patch 16231 Patch 16145 Anyone else experiencing this problem?
