Is that a bug? Also, in the Alert Summary screen, is there anyway to change the message section so that it shows the actual alert (e.g. CPU>90%) rather than just "Health is critical"? I realise it shows this in the tooltip, but we run this on a large monitor and it would be great to be able to just look up at it
New Monitor Adding Problem
I been install SNMP inside my server which running windows 2000 and 2003, i also insert correctly community name and host ip which accept SNMP packet as well. The problem is why I still cannot add that particular server for monitoring? When the time I add in the server, I still get the error message like " SNMP Agent is not running in the System. The reason I ask is that our security officers will not allow appman 7 in it's current form to be presented to the internet as it is deemed to insecure. If we could provide a more secure front end then we could then share information with our customers which would be of real value.

Hi appmanager support, hi, I am now using Application Manager 7 and facing problem with browsing the Alerts tabs with the error message as "[Exception n:/webclient/common/jsp/ TabComponent.jsp] null". Applications Manager 7 ( build number 7000 ) has some serious problem: * The telnet sessions in remote servers which appmanager monitors do not close * We are getting false lot of alerts that servers are down can we revert back to service pack 6 ( build 6600 ) or is there a solution to this problem ?
Reappearing servers when monitoring a WebSphere ND
I'm evaluating Application Manager and added a WebSphere 5.1 Network Deployment cell. App Manager then proceeds to add monitors for all configured nodes and servers the ND is responsible for. Our problem is that some of the servers in the ND is supposed to be stopped and not running. This leads to unavailable alerts all the time. I've tried to delete these monitors, but they keep reappearing all the time. How can I block this?

Since applying the version 7 update, Applications Manager runs OK for a few hours, but then suddenly reports that all my systems are down - even though that it is untrue. If I restart Apps Manager then it correctly reports that everything is up, but then after a few hours it again reports that everything is down. Could the poll interval be 5 seconds?
Dear sir, I created an Apache monitor but was told the Apache could only be polled in minutes. After I got through the discussion in all sites, I only found the low_level API in SNMP. I wonder if the poll interval of 1 minutes is reasonable, since the apache SLA violation could only be notified after 1 minutes. Could I change the poll interval of Apache service, thus it will be monitored every 5 seconds? Thanks.
Process monitor for Solaris
We installed Applications Manager on a Windows 2003 server and we want to monitor a SUN Solaris 8 server (system resources and processes). When we try to add some unix process to monitor (process Details -> Add new process), the window is empty (no process are shown). We use SSH to monitor the server. If we install Application Manager on a Windows XP machine, all the process are retrieved correctly. It may be a problem related to the 2003 server?

We are are using Manage Engine 7 telnet to monitor our SunSolaris boxes. We have discovered that these sessions are not disconecting. looking at the Sun boxe we have a lot of open manage engine sessions these session only clear once the box has been bounced.
Major issue (bug) version 7
Upgrade to version 7 didn't went well at all!!! At all HP-UX servers (6) it set up so much kornshell (ksh) processes that the servers weren't available any more. This produced production performance problems! This seems a big bug and should be repaired. Version 7 is deleted immediately and version 6.6 is running properly again.

WMI vs. SNMP and Reliability
Hello, I am attempting to monitor approximately 20 windows 2003 based servers across my organisation. I have them setup to use WMI. The problem I have is that it seems that most of them have "no status" - or rather the grey circle with a line in it. Occationally I get a green light on one or two of the servers, but generally they have no status, and the infomation is out of date. Hello, I have 17 IIS WebServers setup for monitoring, but it seems that it can only display the status of one server at a time. As it polls the servers, only one server will show the status of Available, the rest will be 'Unknown'. Any ideas? Gareth

Most admin options are disabled, i.e. New Monitor Group, New Monitor, New Threshold etc. They also dont show in the admin side pannel - only in Sitemap. Changing database for AppManager
Hi all, I want to change the default database for AppManager to existing MySQL instance. I've changed all config files except startapplicationmanager.bat as there is no 'startMySQL' command there. However: - if I run AppManager service it tries to start and configure new instance of bundled MySQL; - if I put RO attribute on database-params.conf, AppManager creates some tables and then fails with SQL exception. I have a standalone appmanager 6 box which I upgraded to service pack 7 however this doesn't let you upgrade it to an Admin node . so how do I do it. I have a significant number of monitors and alerts set up and I don't want to flatten it and reinstall. So how do you preserve the data and get the new features ?

When opening some monitors, no data is shown and the message "Error # Not enough storage is available to complete this operation" is displayed at the top of the screen. These monitors previously worked fine.

Dear support team, since upgrade from Application Manager to 7.0 all Oracle DB monitors and Apache Monitors are shown as "down". In a call a few month's ago, we got the hint to replace the classes12.zip with an inital one from first installation. We did this this time again, and for a few hours the monitors were "green".
