Some views disappear without any reasons
Hi, I created business views. But some of them was unreachable after some days. I have the message " No Infra Structure View found with this name". I created the view again and I had the same problem. I tried to launch Repair.bat but without results. Can you help me? How can I delete the link for the unreachable views?
Desktops Gone
We have a problem with our opManager in that i have a machine that is giving a error when it is disconnected, but it doesnt appear in any of the views. and i cant get it to by searching for it. Also i have noticed that we use to have about 150 desktops in opManager, and all of a sudden there only appears to be about 10 or so. Where did the others go? no one has deleted them.
How to disable Switch Port Alarms
Hi, I have some switches in OpManager. I want to monitor these switches about traffic and erros. However, whenever a user disconnects his Notebook from the network, the port shows offline in OpManager and this creates an alarm. Is it possible to monitor switch ports without creating alarms when a port is down? In the overview of my switch I want to see the status of the ports, if it is up or down. I just don't want to have alarms when a port is down. regards Juergen
Moving Category Views - Now appears in both?
We had a host which had been originally setup in the routers Category however it really should have been under the server category. We moved it host snapshot, used the Category drop down and moved it into servers. It then proceeded to been seen in both Routers and Servers? We then tried the following. We deleted the instance of the host from the routers section thinking that it may have created a second instance. It deleted both... but that was not unexpected. So added the host again but this time
UPS Dials
Has anyone had anyone managed to get the snapshot dials to work when using a Liebert UPS, tried editing ups_monitors & snapshot_dial in conf, with no success.
Multiple Dependencies
Hi there. Is there a way to setup multiple dependencies for one device? If not, this is a needed feature as one device can depend on multiple devices and should be considered in future releases.
OpUtils stay in iFrame
We are running a web-based control-panel to link all of our AdventNet tools together. Right now we have a main index that has links to open each tool (AssetExplorer, Firewall Analyzer, OpUtils, etc) in an iframe. Every single tool except OpUtils will stay in the iframe after logging in. OpUtils seems to go to target _top, which breaks out of the frame. Is there any way to fix or work around this so that OpUtils will stay within the frame?
Availability
I don't know if this is a possibility. We want to be able to manually enter outage history in the availability window. We need to do this because sometimes we have to reboot a server, and due to the fact that the server was not down long enough to violate its threshold, therefore, we don't get the option to enter an outage history comment. Availability metric Incorrect
I seem to be having a issue with reported availability on servers. They are reported as 0% available but there is 5ms ping response and zero packets lost. If I click on the the pie chart for a specific server it will show zero availability, however if you click on the version 6 data option, it shows 100% availability. I upgraded from 6 and was running on 7023, upgraded to 7101 and still having issue.
Performance Monitoring for AS400
Hi, we have 16 AS400 partitions which are currently being monitored by PING only (up/down) and need to be able to keep a check on CPU etc. I have been trwling the web to find a MIB to add to OpManager to enable this. I can find lots of references to a MIB for AS400 but not a download link to one!! Any ideas from anyone please.. Thx.
how to include my own images as background in business view
hi Opmanager is nice. I working with Opmanager 7.0 Evaluation edition. In opmanger business view module, we have only select the default background images like USA.png, India.png etc. I want to add my own company pictures or some other site view. Pages printed
Hi, In my printer monitors I found two monitors: Average Marker Life Count Pages printed when I open them, the Pages Printed shows the number of pages printed since the last poll. In MIB-browser it shows the total number of pages. Average Print Marker Life Count shows the number of pages printed per minute. In the solutionsdatabase I found how to change the Pages Printed to show the total number of pages like the MIB-Browser does. Could it be possible, to add another monitor to show all three values?

Disk Partition Utilisation graphs
We currently have disk utilisation set at the partition level. A colleague who tested Opmanager mentioned that he saw a utilisation graph that showed each of the partitions utilisation on top of each other in the same graph. I have not seen this in the current version 7. Is this possible?
Monitoring "Free Disk Space" on ESX Server
Hi! I am monitoring an ESX Server 3.0.5 with OM7 (latest release #7027) To get the "Free Disk Space" of the partition on which the VM Machines are installed I am using your monitor "Telnet-FreeDiskSpaceInGB". This monitor executes the command "df -m". Unfortunately I receive a value that isn't correct. Now, here comes the question: How can I create a monitor like this which executes the command "vdf" (special command for ESX Server to get the correct HD size)?? And how can I handle the result value??
SMS Server shows completely wrong information / SMS delayed
We use OpManager Build 7100 and monitor 250 Servers with that. Since around a week now the SMS which are send from OpManager via a connected Cellphone where sent ~ 30 Minutes delayed. That caused us to unplug the connection wire between the Phone and the OpManager Server today for testing reasons (COM Connection, Nokia 6310i ). After disconnecting the Cellphone the SMS Server Settings in Administration-Tab of OpManager 7 shows that the Cellphone is still connected !!?? Also rebooting the whole OpManager
Bad interface name
Hello, I'm using OPmanager v7 SP1 (build 7101) and i recently re install the product as my database crashed. So all the installation process went well, i had choose "French" Language and all went ok. Import process (from CSV file) worked fine but when i try to add one of my HP 5308XL switch, i have this kind of strange text ... (see attached file) So i just can't see ports name... Infrastructure Views
I would like to separate some servers into a new infrastructure view, however, when I move these windows 2003/2000 servers to this new view they do not visually show all the monitors such as window services and SQL monitors. If I move them back to the servers view they show visually just fine. Is there a way to get this custom view setup like the server view? Thanks!

Upgrade from Build 7100 to 7101 not possible
Hello, at the "About" dialog-windows on OpManager it shows "Build: 7100". I've downloaded the newly released service pack that updates OpManager to Build 7101 and follwed the installation instructions ( make Update of database, etc). The UpdateManager tells me then that i cannot install the Service-Pack, because it is not compatible with our OpManager Version !? any Ideas? Greetings Jenson

Hi I am using OpManager and have added the following monitors: IO Batch Writes IO Outstanding Reads IO Outstanding Writes IO Page Reads I have specified the threshold and rearm alerts and the monitors do show "normal" However when I click on the monitor to view a report it shows "no data available" How can I generate a report on the IO data? so i can work out the averages over a week? Cisco 6500 Interface Description
Is there a way to make the interface description display the real interface description listed in the Cisco 6500 switch? Looks like it defaults to the interface index number and dome sort of description (or interface type) but the description displayed isn't the real interface description. I found the thread below which I believe is similar to mine but the thread didn't make a lot of sense... <Sorry, I can't post the link> Is there a way to get OpManager to display the REAL interface description?

Need more custom links
Hi, On the snapshot-page it is possible to add custom links e.g. to open a browser with the IP-Adressof the device. However, I have some devices, that I have to open via telnet or a rdp-session for the servers or via VNC or something like that. Is it possible to open another program instead of opening a webbrowser? And if so, how? Greetings Juergen
create and save custom reports
Hi All, I would like to create a custom report and use that for all of our customers. When i click on custom report I can create such a report, but I can't save it. What i would like to achieve is that this custom report is made monthly for every customer automatically and mailed to this customer. I know it is possible to automatically generate a report and mail it to the customer, but not with a custom report. Can anyone help me ?
Maps Infra structure view not available
Hi all, We are experiencing a problem with Servers Infra Structure view under MAPS. The error message is: No Infra Structure View found with this name. We tried to recreate it, without success. No we have 2 records with the name "Servers", but both are not working. We installed SP1. Atached maps.conf file, maybe it helps you.
Email Messages Bytes/Sec and email size
Hello, I have OpManager 7 and I need to know the size of the emails sent by Exchange. I have found the Message Bytes/sec under Message Transfer Agent Monitor but it does not shows any data it is the same with the TCP/IP Receive Bytes/sec and TCP/IP Transmit Bytes/sec monitors. Am I doing something wrong or OpManager cannot provide that information? Regards, Manuel
At-a-Glance Report ByteSec In and OUT problem
Hello, In OPManager, the At-a-Glance Report, the two graphic report Byte/Sec In and Byte/Sec Out goes never far as 200K. If i see a small used interface, the graphic is automaticaly adjusted. But with normal used interface, i cant see the graph with my real traffic because of the 200K Byte/sec limitation of this graphic. Any idee to resolve this problem ?

I am trying to monitor my postfix queue through opmanager have gotten as far as getting the mail queues to output in an snmp walk but I can't figure out which mib I have to use to get this into op manager or if I can just use the OID to import this data in. I am using op manager 6. I am trying to get this into op manager so it can monitor the queues. Trying to execute OpManager on MSSQL 2005 with non-sysadmin
Hello, I installed OpManager 7.0 Professional with MSSQL 2005 database backend, by means of "sa" user. Later, I checked the installation was fine, and then I tried to change database user, in file "database_params.conf". I created in SQL 2005 a new SQL login, called "opmanager", and made it db_owner of OpManagerDB database. Then, I restart the application and doesn't work well. Wrapper.log shows the line "Process : DBServer [ FAILED ]" and stderrXX.log shows the line "17:22:54:491 PM ##### PROBLEM
