SNMP WALK from OpManager MibBrowser

SNMP WALK from OpManager MibBrowser

SNMPWalk allows you to detect a set of variables that are available for reading on a certain device. In this way full descriptions of variables and possible values are displayed. The SNMPWalk uses the SNMP GETNEXT request to query the agent on the device and fetch the information. The OID's are responsible for fetching us correct information from the device when queried.

If you have a MIB you can read through it to get the OID information. If you don't have the MIB, the best way is to walk the device asking the device agent for every value it can supply you.

In OpManager, the SNMPWalk information can be obtained from the standalone MIB Browser.Enter the Hostname and its approriate community string and in the Object ID enter .1 and click the GET operation.

This should give you the SNMPWalk information for the device. The walk output can be copied to Wordpad for analysis.
