XLS export failure

In SD7 Whenever I try to export an audit trail report to XLS (or CSV) it fails:

FAILURE :Unable to execute report : C:\AdventNet\ME\ServiceDesk\bin\..\reports\302\null.jasper

- HTML and PDF export works fine.

Is this a known error?? and is there a solution to this?
