User Audit Logs

User Audit Logs

User log audits play a vital role in IT Service Management (ITSM) for several reasons such as security, compliance and effective troubleshooting. They offer a detailed record of user actions, supporting accountability, identifying potential security risks and ensuring compliance with regulations.

This also helps auditing and analyzing the access rights of users to confirm they align with their current roles and responsibilities.

After analyzing numerous use-cases, we are happy to share that we plan to launch this feature in one of the upcoming releases. These logs record user activities across the following modules, including detailed information about the user who performed each action.

  • Requests, Changes, Projects, Releases, and their admin configurations.
  • User Login/Logout.
  • Approvals.
  • Tasks.
  • Work Log.
  • Instance Settings.
  • Mail Settings.
  • Reports
  • Security Settings.
  • ESM Portal/Self-Service Portal Customizations.

The following screenshots illustrate this feature.

The available columns are shown in the following screenshots. You can further refine the data by using the filter option to select multiple values.

It captures records whether the operations were performed from web browser or mobile app along with the IP address.

Following are the date filters supported.

Notes
Since all activities of both technicians and requesters are recorded, only the data from the past 90 days are stored as this can create an enormous amount of data.

We recommend you to visit our beta site to try this feature and explore other new features that are in queue for release.

We encourage you to stay tuned for exciting and the latest updates coming your way.
