I am aware that only two default asset states do not consume a license - expired and disposed. These follow a documented process of removal from the organisation.

I am trying to account for IT assets that are lost/missing/stolen/unaccounted for, and wish to create an asset state to reflect this. However, I do not want these to consume a license, similarly to expired and disposed.

Is there a way to create an asset state which does not consume a license, but is classed as an IT Asset? For example, a laptop that was previously allocated to a user, that has since for example been stolen.
