problem connecting to server
Hi,
I want to run MnageEngine as a limited user. I want to give it the rights on the host machine to do its job, no more.
ELA (event log analyzer) by default runs as a local system account. I created new local user account and gave it full control permission to the ELA folder. ELA launched fine. I added a number of windows hosts but ELA shows an orange circle tih white square on it. I found that this means "problem connecting to server".
I eddited permissions on the root of WMI namespace on the host machine, and ensured that permissions propagate. It didn't do the trick.
I switched back to using local system account but ELA still shows the same status - "problem connecting to server".
I've confirmed that WMI service is running on the host and monitored servers, a;; servers are reachable and there is no authentication failures.
Two questions then:
1. What to do to make ELA start collecting logs
2. What permission do the user account need in order for ELA to work properly?
