Improve SLA Stats

I would like to improve the SLA stats for the applications that I monitor with Applications Manager. Now I set a poll interval of 10 minutes. Even if I resolve the problem as quickly as possible (say in another 10 minutes), the downtime will take 10 more minutes to sort out.

Is there someway of improving this, so that I can reduce the downtime ?
