import sample scripts

Auto-populated customized sample scripts help administrators get started quickly by providing contextual, ready-to-use code tailored to their specific configuration or use case. Instead of writing scripts from scratch, users receive examples that include relevant fields, objects, APIs and best-practice patterns.

Key benefits of this feature includes:

  1. Faster development and implementation of automations and integrations.
  2. Reduced learning curve for non-developers.
  3. Fewer scripting errors through context-aware examples.
  4. Greater adoption of advanced platform capabilities.
  5. Consistent use of coding and security best practices.
  6. Lower dependency on documentation and support teams.

By providing sample or starter scripts, the application can significantly improve administrator productivity, accelerate time-to-value and make customization more accessible.

To simplify script creation further and reuse, we are planning to introduce a feature that allows you to import predefined scripts and customize them to suit your requirements. Please take a look at the screen recording attached to this post for a preview.

In the example shown, you can configure an SLA matrix for service requests based on priority. Simply modify the priority and SLA values to match your environment, update the URL and technician key when prompted and save the script. Once completed, the configuration is ready to use.

We have already included several frequently requested custom scripts which are maintained in a JSON repository within the application directory. Additional scripts can be added over time based on your requirements and use cases.

After importing a script, you can reuse it across various automation features including custom triggers, business rules, custom schedules, workflows, page scripts, request timer actions and field and form rules.
