How do I get the API to return JSON

How do I get the API to return JSON

When using apidoc to test the API, it always returns JSON. When I use the exact same url/query, it returns XML. Why?

eg) https://<server>/sdpapi/request/126303?OPERATION_NAME=GET_REQUEST
