End of Support for User Access Token Method & User Authentication-based Microsoft Azure Password Reset in PAM360
Hello Everyone,
This is to inform you that we will not be supporting the User Access Token method to import/sync/authenticate users from Azure AD in PAM360 after Microsoft deprecates its API services. Subsequently, only the App-Only Access Token method will be available to import/sync/authenticate users from Azure AD.
Similarly, we will be retiring our support for User Authentication-based Password Reset for Microsoft Azure resources once Microsoft deprecates its API services. Thereupon, users will require an Azure app and a privileged account for the remote password reset of Microsoft Azure resources.
The proposed strategy works as follows:
For new customers:
- User Access Token method will not be available to import/sync/authenticate users from Azure AD. Instead, they can use the App-Only Access Token method.
- User Authentication-based Password Reset cannot be used for Microsoft Azure resources. Instead, they will need an Azure app and a privileged account.
For existing customers:
- In versions earlier than 6000: They can use the User Access Token method with all import/sync/authenticate functionalities intact and the User Authentication-based method to reset their passwords - until Microsoft deprecates its API services.
- From version 6000 and later: They can continue using the User Access Token method (without further import/sync/authenticate) and the User Authentication-based method to reset their passwords - until Microsoft deprecates its API services.
Thanks,
Praveen
