Duplicate Assets (_old)

Noticed we are getting alot of duplicate assets all prefixed with _old_# (# being a incremental number for duplicates).

We are running an older version (8.0.0 Build 8027) but had been working well previously.

Anyone know how/why this is happening and how I can get this resolved and assets merged?
