Checking password integrity of MS SQL Server accounts

Hi,

I've a few SQL Authentication accounts which I want to perform a password integrity/verify password on. Is there a particular way the resource needs to be set up to support this functionality?

I assume the 'DNS Name' or 'Resource URL' comes into play? Does the formatting need to change for Default vs Named SQL Instances?

Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated.
