Assigning and finishing tasks from service/incident requests for normal users
Hello guys,
I've asked the question already through the build-in help function of SDPOndemand. I've decided to also post it here, because we had an internal discussion about it.
It's about tasks that can be set up on service/incident requests. Currently only an 'owner' can be set, which are only technicians. This in itself hinders and limits the application of SDPOndemand significantly in our opinion: individual tasks are 99% of the time relatively small tasks that have to be accomplished by a single (normal) user (not a technician perse), as such a normal user should in effect be able to get assigned to a tasks so he can execute and finish the tasks he is assigned to. To work all through this we also would need extra technicians, but we can expand those when needed.
It hinders the application significantly, because we were actively exploring a proof of concept to broaden the usage of SDP within our organization. One of the key tasks in our scenario is that we would be using tasks extensively throughout the company. Unfortunately this does not work, so this limits our options in such a way we are left with one option: we have quit the setup for our POC.
Now: i've gotten the answer that SDP does not support this - and that 'it will be looked upon in the future'. But is it possible to elaborate a bit on that? What timeframe are we talking about? Is it effectively being considered? The reason for asking is that upon our internal discussion we were exploring Monday .com for our tasks handling - in itself this is not a bad choice, but we wanted to keep everything IT-related in one single place - so hence my question: is it seriously being considered? What timeframe?
Thanks in advance.
Sven
