Unable to view automation tasks created by another technician

ADManager Plus' automation capability makes it easy to automate repetitive and critical Active Directory (AD) operations such as user creation, password reset, account unlock, and AD cleanup. It also allows a technician to use the automations configured by other technicians. However, sometimes a technician might not be able to view the automations configured by other technicians, because of sharing issues.

Possible reason: For a technician to be able to view and use an automation created by another technician, it must be shared by the creator of the automation to this technician. So, if a technician is not able to view the automations of other technicians, the most probable reason is that they might not have been shared yet.

Solution: To allow a technician to view automations of others, share them explicitly to the relevant technicians or users using the following steps:

  1. Log in to ADManager Plus and navigate to the Automation tab.

  2. A list of all the automations configured by you will be displayed.

  3. In the Actions column of the automation that you wish to share with other users, click the share icon that becomes visible once you hover.

  4. Search and select the technician(s) with whom you would like to share this automation and define the level of access they will have over this automation. If you choose View, the technician(s) will be able to generate and copy the shared automation, while choosing Edit will enable the technician to generate, copy, and edit the shared automation.

  5. Alternatively, click the Share With All Technicians if you would like to share the automation with all the technicians.

  6. Click Share.
