9418 ppm- Unable to apply 9418 ppm - warning msg shown (NOT IN USE)

During 9418 upgrade, users may face the below warning.

"One or More Change Status notifications' subject and content are empty"

Note:

It is not the upgrade failure its just a warning error. Application will start even after this warning message.


How to Troubleshoot and fix this ?

1. Open the updatemgrlog0.txt present under <servicedeskplusmsp>/logs . Search for the string "Change statuses with notification content as empty are : <status_values>" Usually it will be present in the END of this file.

Here we will list down couple of change status names in <status_values>.

2. To fix this : You need to start the application again and goto Admin -> Problem / Change Management ->  Stage and Status.

Here edit the particular <status_values> and provide some contents in subject and Message field and save the same.


3. Now shut down the application and do the upgrade again. 


Root cause: 

We have restricted  users to apply 9418 ppm if any change status field doesnt have any values in it. This is to avoid empty contents present in Notification mails.
