Overview
Zoho MCP (Model Context Protocol) connects your AI assistant directly to ServiceDesk Plus Cloud and the ManageEngine & Zoho ecosystem. Once set up, your AI can create tickets, update requests, fetch asset details, and more — all from a natural conversation, without switching tabs or navigating menus.
This guide walks you through the complete setup in four steps:
Who is this for? IT administrators and helpdesk teams using ServiceDesk Plus Cloud who want to bring AI into their day-to-day ITSM workflows.
Zoho MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a secure bridge that connects AI assistants — like Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot — directly to ServiceDesk Plus Cloud and the broader ManageEngine & Zoho ecosystem.
Instead of switching between tools or writing custom scripts, you simply ask your AI to do it. Create tickets, check asset details, update requests, pull change approvals — all from a single conversation.
Key Benefits
Step 1: Open the Tools tab — I your MCP Server, go to Tools and click Add More Tools.
Step 2: Search for SDP On Demand — Type "sdp" in the search box and select Sdp On Demand from the results.
Step 3: Select Tool Actions — Check the actions to enable — e.g. addRequest, editRequest, addRequestNote, getAssetById. You can select all 92 actions or a targeted subset.
Step 4: Click Add Now — Confirm the selection to add the tools to your server.
Step 5: Add Other Products (Optional) — Click Add More Tools again to include Endpoint Central, Site24x7, or other Zoho products.
Step 1: Go to the Connection tab — Click Connection in the left sidebar of your MCP Server.
Step 2: Configure Authorization Type — Click Edit and choose one of the two modes:
Authorization on Demand (Default) — Each user authorizes individually via OAuth on their first tool call. Recommended for shared/multi-user environments.
Authorize via Connection (Recommended for personal use) — All tools are pre-authorized once. All executions share a single authorization.
Step 3: Authorize the Native Connection — (Authorize via Connection only) — In the Authorized Tools table, click the ... menu next to Native Connection, select Authorize, complete the Zoho OAuth flow, check the permission boxes, and click Accept. Status changes to Connected.
Step 4: Copy Your Server URL — Go to the Connect tab and copy the Server URL. You will paste this into Claude in Phase 4.
Note: Treat the Server URL like a password. Do not paste it into public repos, shared docs, or anywhere others can read it. |
Note: Only a Claude organization admin can complete these steps. Once connected, the integration is accessible to everyone in your Claude organization. |
Step 1: Open Claude Settings — In claude.ai, click your profile icon then Settings.
Step 2: Navigate to Connectors — Click Customize in the left sidebar, then select Connectors.
Step 3: Add a Custom Connector — Click the + icon (Add connector) and select Add custom connector.
Step 4: Fill in Connector Details — Enter a name (e.g. ManageEngine-ZOHOMCP) and paste your Zoho MCP Server URL. Expand Advanced settings if you need to add an OAuth Client ID or Secret.
Step 5: Click Add — The connector will appear in the list with all available tools.
Step 6: Set Tool Permissions to Always Allow — Under Read-only tools, change the permission from Needs approval to Always allow so Claude can call tools without prompting each time.
Step 7: Refresh Tools List — Click the ... menu on the connector and select Refresh tools list to sync all Zoho action tools.
