Resolving the integration error "Invalid parameter length"

Resolving the integration error "Invalid parameter length"

Issue description

When integrating ADSelfService Plus with third-party applications such as ServiceDesk Plus, Splunk, or ServiceDesk Plus Cloud, the following error may appear on the integration configuration page:
Invalid parameter length
This error prevents the integration from being configured successfully and typically indicates an issue with the API key used during setup.

Possible cause

  • The authtoken value exceeds the maximum supported length of 250 characters.

Prerequisites

Before troubleshooting, ensure that you have:
  • Administrator access to the ADSelfService Plus portal.
  • Administrator access to the third-party application you are trying to integrate.
  • A valid authtoken generated from the third-party application.

Resolution

Step 1: Check the authtoken length
  • Ensure the authtoken you are using is 250 characters or fewer.
 Step 2: Validate the token
  • Log in to the respective application (ServiceDesk Plus, Splunk, or ServiceDesk Plus Cloud).
  • Verify that the token is valid and active.
Step 3: Reconfigure the integration in ADSelfService Plus
  • Log in to the ADSelfService Plus admin portal.
  • Navigate to Admin > Product Settings > Integration Settings.
  • Select the respective application integration.
  • Enter the valid authtoken in the API Key field.
  • Save and test the configuration to confirm successful integration.
Once the authtoken is corrected and within the supported length, the integration should work without errors.
