1. Can requesters work on projects and have them associated with tasks?

Yes, requesters can work on projects and have tasks associated with them, provided they are assigned project roles. To enable this, requesters must be associated with the default project role and can then be assigned as project members to specific projects.

2. What is the difference between Gantt view, Kanban view, and resource management?

Gantt View: A Gantt view is a visual representation of a project schedule, where tasks are displayed as horizontal bars across a timeline. It shows the start and end dates of tasks, their duration, dependencies, and how they relate to each other.

Kanban View:Kanban is a visual method of managing work using boards with columns that represent different stages of a process or workflow (e.g., "To Do," "In Progress," "Done"). Tasks or work items are represented by cards that move through these stages.

Resource Management:Resource management focuses on planning, allocating, and managing the resources (people, time, equipment, and budget) needed to complete a project. It ensures that resources are used effectively and efficiently to meet project goals.

3. Is there a possibility to create an SLA for tasks?

Currently, there is no option to configure an SLA for tasks. However, you can set an Estimated Effort Time to trigger a reminder notification if the tasks are not completed within the scheduled time.

4. I am using the Enterprise edition but cannot see the Project Module tab in the header. What might be the reason?

Only if a user/technician is associated with a default project role or to any project would be able to view the project module.

To associate a user to project module please go to Setup --> User's and Permission's --> Requester's/Technicians --> click on the Requester/Technician --> Advanced Permission ( Project Role ) and let us know how it works.

5. The client reports that a user is not listed as the task owner for a specific project. What could be causing this?

The user has to be part of the project in order to be assigned task within the project. In Members section of the project, the user can be added as a member

6. Is it possible to restrict users with the Project Manager role to view only their associated projects?

Yes. You can restrict project managers to view only projects assigned to them.
Setup > Customization > Project Management > Project role > Edit role

7. How can we configure task dependency to trigger a task upon the closure of its predecessor and assign a technician upon that trigger?

You can create a task dependency within project milestones/tasks.

Once the dependency is set, the task template added should be configured to trigger upon completion of the before task by toggling the highlighted option.

8. How is the timesheet calculated within a project?

The timesheet is calculated based on the Worklog timer added by the technician under each task. The cost involved will be kept track of by the amount of hours worked by the technician in each task.

You can set the technician cost in the technician's profile.
