Polling (IP address/DNS name)
OpManager allows you to choose the polling method for the discovered devices - IP Address or DNS Name. By
default, the IP Address is selected. If you choose DNS Name, the device's IP address is updated every 6 hours.
There are two ways to change the settings:
How to change the device individually
- Click on the Device in the Inventory → Go to the Device Summary page.
- Click the “” icon in the top right corner of the page.
- Click [Edit device information].
- In Polling, select either IP Address or DNS.
- Click Save.
How to change the default
- Go to Settings → Monitoring → Monitoring Settings
- Under general, check either the IP address or DNS in Polling.
- Click Save.
Changing the defaults only applies to devices discovered after the change -
polling settings for devices discovered before the default change must be changed individually.
