Objective
To explain how to restore reports for a specific log type in EventLog Analyzer when the reports are missing due to the report view being disabled, even though logs are being collected successfully.
Prerequisites
EventLog Analyzer is installed and accessible
Logs from the affected device or application are already being collected
User has admin or report management privileges
Issue description
Reports for a specific log source are not visible in the Reports section of EventLog Analyzer, even though the corresponding logs are present and searchable.
Possible causes
EventLog Analyzer automatically enables reports when logs from a supported log source are detected. However, if a report view is manually disabled under Manage Reports, the report will no longer appear in the Reports section.
This can occur due to:
Accidental report disablement
Changes made during report customization
Administrative cleanup or testing activities
Resolution
Enable Missing Reports for the Log Source
Log in to the EventLog Analyzer console.
Navigate to Reports → Manage Reports.
Browse to the relevant report category (for example, Network Devices, Servers, or Applications).
Locate the affected log source.
Check whether the report is disabled.
Enable the required reports.
Save the changes.
Return to the Reports tab and verify that the reports are now visible.
Example Scenario
Sangfor logs were being collected and were available in the Search module, but Sangfor reports were not visible under the Reports section. Upon reviewing Reports → Manage Reports → Network Devices → Sangfor, the reports were found to be disabled. Once re-enabled, the reports appeared and populated with existing data.
Expected Outcome
After enabling the report views, the missing reports will appear in the Reports section and display data based on the logs already collected.
Tips
Reports for supported log sources are automatically enabled when logs are first detected.
If logs are searchable but reports are missing, always verify the report status under Manage Reports.
Disabling a report does not stop log collection; it only affects report visibility.
If multiple reports are missing, review whether a parent category was disabled.
Report visibility settings persist across restarts and upgrades.
