Answer: For build version 13000 or 13.0.0 and above, EventLog Analyzer license is categorized based on the following line items:
- Number of Log Sources ( Windows Servers, Linux/Unix , Firewalls, Routers, Switches, IDS/IPS, AS400, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS Sites, Salesforce and Other applications)

Answer: Most of the network devices like Firewall, routers or switches forward their logs as syslog to EventLog Analyzer which requires a "device" license for each device onboarded.

Answer: To audit File Server, you need a license as follows:
Windows File Server - For member server with File Server Role, to monitor File changes, you need "Windows File Server" and to audit other regular events you need "Windows Server" License.
Linux File Server - To monitor File changes, you need "Linux File Server" License and if you need to collect all other events, it will be collected via syslogs which needs "device" license.
NOTE: Windows servers & Windows Workstation needs "Windows Server & Windows workstation" license respectively to monitor file change activities.

Answer: As part of subscription license, Zoho provides support that includes email and chat support for problem reporting, product updates, upgrades and online access to product documentation at no additional cost for the period of subscription. Technical support, including online access to product documentation, product updates, upgrades, service packs, email and phone support, is not included as part of perpetual license. You may purchase technical support services for perpetual license by paying the current maintenance and support fee.

12. What is the difference between Subscription and Perpetual license models?
Answer: ManageEngine offers two different types of license models:
Perpetual Model:
Under the perpetual model, the licensing is perpetual, and a small Annual Maintenance and Support (AMS) fee is applied (to be paid every year apart from the one-time license fee) to cover maintenance, support, and updates.
Annual Subscription Model:
In the annual subscription model, the license is valid for one year, after which it expires. To maintain the license, renewal is required annually. The subscription price includes the Annual Maintenance and Support (AMS) fee, which is not charged separately.

14. My license just expired and I have few features that are not available in my instance. Why is it so?
Answer: ManageEngine offers full functionality based on license obtained. Upon license expiry, the application will be converted to free edition. The license expiration does not immediately block all services, but it restricts access to key features such as log collection, advanced analytics, reporting, File Integrity monitoring, Correlation/Detection, Custom views, Active Directory/Radius Authentication etc. However, you will be able to access the old data. To restore full functionality, a valid license file must be uploaded via the License tab in the UI. If the license is not updated, the system will not allow new log collection or feature access.
15. I could see the application uses Java. Should I purchase the licensed version of Java additionally to run this application?
Answer: ManageEngine applications include various third-party tools in which some may require licensing. These licenses are bundled with the installation, and no additional purchase is necessary. Refer to the list of third-party tools used in EventLog Analyzer in the below URL.
16. What is the impact if the license renewal is delayed by a few days? Is there an option to extend the license temporarily without affecting operations?
Answer: If the license renewal is delayed, the application may stop functioning once the license expires, which could disrupt operations. To avoid this, you can request a temporary license extension from ManageEngine, which ensures continued usage until the renewal process is completed.
