What are the prerequisites required to monitor Hyper-V with Non-Admin user account
Hyper-V Can be monitored with non admin credentials by following the below steps:
Please follow the steps from link below on the Admin account:
After completing the steps mentioned in the above link please perform the below steps.
1. Click Start>Run..., type lusrmgr.msc and click OK
2.select Groups and select Hyper-V Administrators.
3.Right-click "Hyper-V Administrators" to bring up the menu, and click Properties.
4.Click Add and type the local user account, click Check Names, then click OK.
5.Click Apply and OK and close the properties menu and restart the Windows.
Note:
- If we add the local account in Hyper-V Administrators group then it will not become admin account on that server instead it will have complete and unrestricted access to all features of Hyper-V only, which is required for monitoring in APM.
- After performing the steps mentioned in the link, If the non-admin account is not added in Hyper-V Administrators then Hyper-V Virtual Machine related metrics and some other Hyper-V Host metrics(Hyper-V Services, Hypervisor related metrics) cannot be monitored in APM.
