How to setup an account in ManageEngine CloudDNS?
As only verified Zoho users are allowed to register inside CloudDNS, if you are new to Zoho you'll be required to signup that automatically directs you to create your Zoho account first.
Creation of a verified Zoho Account
- If you are already a Zoho user you'll be directly taken to the CloudDNS registration page.
- CloudDNS protects your account by enforcing a mandatory verification of a second authentication factor for secured access to your account. By default, the two-factor authentication is enforced on all users associated with your organization.
- All you need is a mobile device capable of running a compatible mobile authenticator application that generates a time-sensitive code from any TOTP-enabled authenticator mobile app in the market every time you login to add an extra layer of security to your account.
- ManageEngine CloudDNS supports a variety of mobile authenticator apps, like Google Authenticator, Zoho's OneAuth, Authy, and more.
- Install the authenticator app of your choice on your smart phone.
You can either scan the QR secret code using the app or enter the secret code manually. The secret codes are displayed in the CloudDNS registration page.
Sign up using Secret QR code or phrase enforcing two-factor authentication
- This will map the product server details to the authenticator app. It is a one time process, the next time you log in you'll only have to enter the TOTP flashing in your authenticator app.
- You can use the time-sensitive OTP generated on the app, as an additional layer of security, to login to CloudDNS. The OTP can be generated anytime, anywhere. No internet connection is required to generate TOTP.
On accessing CloudDNS for the first time, the initial user making the first move is requested to create a new organization, where the user is prompted to enter the name of the organization he intends to create under CloudDNS.
Create new organization in ManageEngine CloudDNS
- By default the initial user is absorbed into CloudDNS as an Admin. After receiving the Organization name, the initial user is logged into CloudDNS and presented with the dashboard of the organization just created that displays the list of domains and key metrics of the domains that you create and manage within the organization.
- To add other users into the organization that the initial user/Admin creates:
Access the Users page by selecting the Users menu from the left menu bar.
In the Users page, click on the Add User button on the top right corner of the page.
A small form displays requesting to share the essential details of the new user like: Username, Email and the Role of the new user.

New User receiving an email invite to join ManageEngine CloudDNS
On clicking Join the Organization button in the email invite, the new user is directly taken to the page that displays in step 7 with the QR secret code and the secret code.
On getting successfully authenticated using an authentication app, the user is absorbed into CloudDNS with the Role chosen by the Admin(s).
On successful login, the user is directly taken to the CloudDNS dashboard displaying the key performance metrics of all the domains he has been given access to depending on his role and associated permissions.
Only the Admin(s) will be able to add, edit or delete other users in the organization. Incase one of the users lose their smart phones they use for authentication, the admin can delete the TOTP device mapped under that active user's account and can generate a fresh QR secret code or the secret string. This helps the user to register with a new device and easily log in back into the organization.
