How to reset Super Admin password in OpManager?

Please follow the steps below to reset your super-admin password:

For builds 12.7.257 and above  


Please ensure you are logged in as a roo
t user or running the Command Prompt as an Administrator to execute these scripts at the OS level.

Step 
1 : Please open services.msc stop ManageEngine OpManager service

Step 2 : 
Open command prompt with admin rights navigate to OpManager_Home\bin directory execute the below command.

ShutdownOpManager.bat

Note: Execute the above command 3 times.

Step 3: Now open command prompt with admin rights navigate to OpManager_Home\bin directory execuet the below command.
ResetPassword.bat

Step 4 : The script will prompt for confirmation for change password [Are you sure to reset the password for admin user ?]
Type y to change password and success message will be shown [Password has been reset as 'admin']



Important : Remove scripts and the best practice is to use 'Forgot Password' option available in login page

Step 5 : Once executed start the product and check the status.

Step 6 : Configure Mail Server Settings and email address in admin user profile to use Forgot Password option.
Note: If a mail server is configured, it is advisable to use the “Forgot Password” option.

For builds below 12.7.257

Check this 
help document to reset passwords. If these steps end up being ineffective in your case, follow the steps below.

Step 1 : ResetPassword scripts for builds 123190 to 124151 (ResetPassword_123190_124151.zip) and for build 124152 and above are available in the attachment. 

Step 2 : Download the ResetPassword scripts and place the downloaded scripts under <OpManager_Home>/bin directory.

Step 3 : Stop OpManager, navigate to <OpManager_Home>/bin, and run the ResetPassword script (.bat on Windows & .sh on Linux).

Step 4 : The script prompts for confirmation (“Are you sure to reset the password for admin user?”). Enter y to proceed. Upon success, the message “Password has been reset as 'admin'” will be displayed.

Step 5 : Remove the scripts after use. It is recommended to use the “Forgot Password” option available on the login page.

Step 6 : Ensure Mail Server Settings are configured and an email address is set for the admin user to use the “Forgot Password” option.

Important Note - Running the script while OpManager is active will result in an error instructing you to stop OpManager.
