Objective

This article explains how to increase the size limit of the EventData directory in GB when the agent is unable to forward data to server in ManageEngine ADAudit Plus, which temporarily stores processed audit events. Adjusting this size helps prevent data loss or processing delays in high-volume environments and ensures uninterrupted log handling and reporting.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that the drive on the agent (monitored) computer has sufficient free space to accommodate the updated size limit for the ADAudit Plus agent's EventData folder.

  • The configured size must always remain available to avoid data processing issues or dropped events.

  • You need a user account with administrator privileges or a technician account with delegated access to the agent settings configuration section.

  • The ADAudit Plus agent must be installed and active on the monitored endpoint or server for the configuration to apply.

Steps to follow

  1. Log in to the ADAudit Plus web console as an administrator or with a technician account with delegated permissions to agent settings.

  2. Navigate to the Admin tab > Configuration > Agent Settings.

  3. Under the Event Data Settings section, enter the desired size limit in GB in the Maximum size of EventData directory field.

Note: The maximum allowed size is 10GB.

  1. Click Save to apply the updated storage configuration. The new setting will be pushed to all connected ADAudit Plus agents.

If the agent is unable to send data to the ADAudit Plus server and the EventData folder reaches its configured size limit, event collection will stop until space is freed up or connectivity is restored.

Validation and confirmation

  • Navigate to the Configuration tab > Configured Server(s) > Agent Management > Overview and check the LAST SYNC TIME column for the timestamp.

  • Ensure it reflects a recent sync after you made the EventData size change.

  • This confirms the new configuration was pushed successfully.

Tips

  • Set the size based on the log volume.

  • Regularly monitor the disk space usage.

  • Restrict access to the EventData directory to prevent tampering or deletion by non-administrative users.
