How to enable password protection for exported or scheduled reports
Objective
This article explains how to enable password protection for reports that are exported or generated via a schedule in ADAudit Plus.
Prerequisites
You must have administrator access to the ADAudit Plus web console.
Steps to follow
- Log in to the ADAudit Plus web console with an administrator account.
- Navigate to Admin > General Settings > Privacy Settings.
In the Data Security section, check the box for Enable Password Protection for Export or Schedule Reports.
Enter a secure password in the Password field.
Re-enter the same password in the Confirm Password field.
Click Save.
Validation and confirmation
- After saving the settings, export any report or wait for a scheduled report to run.
- Attempt to open the exported report file (e.g., PDF or CSV).
The file should prompt you to enter the password you just configured, confirming that protection is active.
Tips
- As noted in the UI, enabling this option requires the user to enter a password to open exported or scheduled reports.
- Technicians can also set their own password for exported reports on their individual personalization page.
Use a strong, complex password and store it in a secure location, such as a password manager.
