How do I reset MFA for a technician in ADManager Plus?

Objective     

This article explains how to reset MFA for a technician account in ManageEngine ADManager Plus. Resetting MFA is often required when a technician:

  • Changes their mobile device.

  • Loses access to their authenticator app.

  • Faces issues during login due to MFA configuration problems.

Prerequisites     

  • Administrator privileges in ADManager Plus

  • Access to the ADManager Plus web console

  • The technician account must already exist in ADManager Plus

Steps to reset MFA for a technician    

  1. Log in to the ADManager Plus web console using your administrator credentials.

  2. Navigate to Delegation > Configuration > Logon Settings > Two-Factor Authentication.

  3. Click the Enrolled Users link to view all technicians who have registered for MFA.

  4. Locate the technician whose MFA needs to be reset.

  5. Remove them from the list by clicking the corresponding option.

Tips    

  • Encourage technicians to save backup codes if available to avoid disruptions during device loss.

  • If using email-based MFA, ensure the technician’s email address is accurate and up to date.

  • Periodically review technician access and MFA setup as part of broader security best practices.
