Unable to add Web Transaction Recorder Chrome Extension

Steps for Adding Web Transaction Recorder in Latest Chrome if you are getting the below error

Warning
This extension is no longer available because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions


Using Firefox Extension:

  1. If you have Firefox installed, try using the Firefox extension
    1. Access the Firefox Recorder URL in Firefox.
    2. Click Add to Firefox and add the recorder to Firefox.
If you don't have firefox installed, please try the below steps to add the chrome recorder in Edge

Using Extension in Edge:

  1. If you have Microsoft Edge installed, try adding the extension through Edge:

    1. Open the Applications Manager Web Transaction Recorder extension URL in Edge.
    2. Click Get and add the extension to Edge.

If you don't have edge installed, try the blow steps to add recorder in chrome

Enabling the Recorder by adding keys in Registry:

For Windows
  1. Download the attached EnableV2Recorder.zip file and extract it.
  2. Open Registry Editor -> Open Run (Win+R) then type regedit and click Enter.
  3. In the Registry Editor, Choose File -> Import and choose the EnableV2Recorder.reg file in the extracted zip and click Open.
  4. Now Relaunch the Chrome Browser and access the Applications Manager Web Transaction Recorder link.
  5. Now you can be able to add the Extension to the Chrome browser.
For Linux
  1. Download the attached EnableV2Recorder.sh file.
  2. Open Terminal with sudo permission.
  3. Run the command chmod +x EnableV2Recorder.sh in the file downloaded directory.
  4. Then run sh EnableV2Recorder.sh
  5. Now Relaunch the Chrome Browser and access the Applications Manager Web Transaction Recorder link.
  6. Now you can be able to add the Extension to the Chrome browser.
NotesPlease note that the above steps will enable all the Manifest v2 Extensions in Chrome.

If you don't have access the registry, try the below steps to load the extension manually.

Manually Loading the Recorder in Chrome from File:

  1. Download the attached Chrome.zip file and extract it.
  2. Open Chrome -> Extensions -> Manage Extensions or access chrome://extensions 
  3. Turn on Develop mode.
  4. Click Load unpacked and choose the extracted folder and extension will be added to Chrome.

Warning
For Applications Manager v174900 and above, the manually loaded Chrome Recorder will not support the recording from Application Manager UI. Please open the recorder and perform the manual recording
