Configuring Mail Server Settings using Gmail mailbox (Authentication Type - Basic)
Gmail mailbox can be configured using the following steps with Authentication Type - Basic:
- Navigate to Security under the specific Google Account and enable 2-Step Verification.
- After enabling 2-Step Verification, search for "App passwords," generate a new password, and save it for future use.
1) For incoming mail settings:
Where,
- Server Name / IP Address: imap.gmail.com
- Protocol: IMAPS
- TLS Enabled: No
- Port: 993
- Password: The generated password
2) For outgoing mail settings:
Where,
- Server Name / IP Address: smtp.gmail.com
- Protocol: SMTPS
- TLS Enabled: No
- Port: 465
- Enable "Requires Authentication"
- Provide the user name and the generated password.
