Configuring Mail Server Settings using Gmail mailbox (Authentication Type - Basic)

Gmail mailbox can be configured using the following steps with Authentication Type - Basic:

  1. Navigate to Security under the specific Google Account and enable 2-Step Verification.


  1. After enabling 2-Step Verification, search for "App passwords," generate a new password, and save it for future use.



1) For incoming mail settings:



Where,
  1. Server Name / IP Address: imap.gmail.com
  2. Protocol: IMAPS
  3. TLS Enabled: No
  4. Port: 993
  5. Password: The generated password

2) For outgoing mail settings:


Where, 
  1. Server Name / IP Address: smtp.gmail.com
  2. Protocol: SMTPS
  3. TLS Enabled: No
  4. Port: 465
  5. Enable "Requires Authentication"
  6. Provide the user name and the generated password.
