SAM Device Calculation for License

License Model for SAM Bundle from OPM Plus version 128628 & above

Starting with OpManager Plus version 128628, the consumed license count is calculated as follows: each Server consumes 1 license, each Application consumes 1 license, and every 3 Internet Services together consume 1 license.
Info
Versions from which the latest calculation is considered
  1. OPM Version - 128628
  2. APM Version - 178100

License calculation formula = (No. of Servers) + (No. of Applications) + (No. of Internet Services ÷ 3)

Example Calculation

Below is a sample license calculation. The table outlines the total device count in each category and demonstrates how the final license consumption is derived.
ServersApplicationsInternet ServicesCalculationLicense count
20203020 + 20 + (30 ÷ 3)50
204012020 + 40 + (120 ÷ 3)100
505015050 + 50 + (150 ÷ 3)150

How the New License Model is implemented for different users

  1. New Users
For all the new users, the new license model will be considered irrespective of the License type.
  2. Existing Users
    1. Perpetual License Holders - The existing license model remains unchanged and continue to use the Old SAM model and are not affected by this update until further notice.
    2. Subscription License Holders - The new SAM license model will be considered from the next subscription renewal.
      Alert
If a new extended license is applied, new SAM license model will be considered from that point of time.

License Model for SAM Bundle upto OPM Plus version 128627 (Deprecated)

In earlier versions, upto 128627, devices can be allocated in the SAM bundle in the form of Servers, Applications, and Internet Services (URLs and Web Services). The table below illustrates the maximum possible allocation of Devices in the form of Servers, Applications, and Internet Services when all the Devices available in a license pack are allocated in the SAM bundle.
